@cringefail97606 i can think of so many healthy foods that maintain the same texture almost always. cucumbers, beans, rice, carrots, hard boiled eggs, noodles, plain blended marinara sauce, plain yogurt, plain hummus, smooth peanut butter, tortillas……to overcome you must try

"why do ppl with ARFID always eat chicken nuggets etc" gee I wonder why someone with a food avoidant disorder might choose food that's designed for every piece to be the same every time

Is there a scientific reason why sometimes when you wake up from a nap you feel incredible and other times you feel like death with a weird sweet taste in your mouth?

The Monterey Bay Aquarium charges $295 for a family membership or $125 for a single adult. With an EBT card, entry is free — and up to four guests get in free every visit. There is a ZERO incentive for these people to ever get off Food Stamps.

@blazinwithbri I did actually remember why the cabinet door was open last night, I deeply impressed. Unfortunately, it was open because I got distracted by tossing the last half of an apple fritter I forgotten I'd put in there, so the high didn't last

Boudica was not a heroic warrior woman. She was a blood-thirsty maniac with no strategy—only a suicidal campaign of cruelty and sadistic feminine vengeance, marching her brethren into senseless slaughter by the Roman legions. Women in power always leads to suicide.

We are very excited to announce the recent birth of a Przewalski’s horse foal! Also known as Mongolian wild horses, this species was once extinct in the wild, but populations from several sources, including zoo-bred animals, were reintroduced in China in 1989 & Mongolia in 1992.

@AmandaKvalsvig Because it's only 6 years old? Dysautonomia has always been an educate yourself adventure. It takes 10 years for drug development when they actually believe there's a problem they can't ignore, and people are trying like hell to ignore long covid.

Excellent piece. No-one expects people w/ heart disease or asthma to have to read scientific papers to understand their condition, diagnose themselves, & crowdsource research into better treatments. It's rightly seen to be the job of the health system. So why not for Long Covid?
Lou Thornley@Lou_vs_ME

"Long Covid has quietly become a mainstream chronic illness, affecting 4.3 percent of adults - comparable to eg ischaemic heart disease (4.5 percent) But here’s the paradox: Long Covid is mainstream, yet invisible, with sufferers expected to self-manage" newsroom.co.nz/2026/05/14/the…

@Coffeebunn_ @upshine3 That's a separate issue. Rules aren't morals. I get annoyed when people ignore rules, it's fucking stressful when rights are trampled on or people are unfairly accused

@upshine3 It's not so much a sense of justice. It's rigid thinking. Like when autistic people see people not following rules/laws, it's like 'well why?' And cause we've grown up our entire lives having to follow the unknown social rules It's annoying watching others not have to

Anyway I learned yesterday that ppl with ADHD and/or autism often have really really REALLY strong senses of justice and fairness. So now I know why I react so strongly when ppl do things that are shitty. Don't do shitty things, guys! You'll stress out the ADHD/autistic folks!

@KeruboSk Personally, I have a shit sense of time, so I don't notice if we haven't talked recently. But then when I remember how long it's been, I panic. The disappearing is when I get so overwhelmed that other people are just one more thing I don't have the energy to perform for.

I need people with ADHD to explain something to me. Why do you disappear when overwhelmed but also get anxious when people stop talking to you.

@queerBengali You can lose weight the same way (eating less) if you skip oezmpic, which was not made for weight loss. There are big health issues with using ozempic, reducing those concerns to "skinny people are afraid" is missing the point. Coke can do the same for weight loss so it's time?

this is literally “meat isn’t the problem, factory farming is the problem” put into practice. i’m confused why nonvegans are libbing out in the comments just because trump’s face is there, when this is exactly their position on how meat should be produced.
FactPost@factpostnews

The Trump administration is opening 24 million acres of protected federal land to cattle grazing. This will ravage the natural habitats of at-risk wildlife like wolves, grizzly bears, and salmon.

@about2go @jevonduve No, it's that what I expected to be done was never open federally protected land so we can graze more cows.

@LelenaPeacock Uhh...... the literature has changed dramatically here, folks. Non-opioid management should be pursued as aggressively as possible and for most is, actually, workable. Taking oxy 20's every 6 hours and oxycontin 30 mg twice a day is not tenable for a healthy life

You can try to drop the blood sugar as much as you like: either you end up in severe symptomatic hypoglycemia, which is completely unsustainable, or your body regulates the blood sugar straight up. You cannot starve a cancer.
