What people think Gerald is:
- A planet killer
- A methane machine
- The reason the ice caps are melting
- An argument for veganism
- 600 kilograms of environmental catastrophe
What Gerald actually is:
- A four-year-old Hereford cross in a field near Ledbury
- Eating grass that grows because it rained
- Exhaling carbon that was in that grass last month
- Producing manure that will grow the next round of grass
- Aerating soil with his hooves that no machine can replicate at this scale
- Sequestering carbon through the root systems his grazing pressure stimulates
- Running a land management system that has been carbon neutral since before agriculture existed
Gerald has seven wildflower species in his south corner.
Gerald is not aware of this.
Gerald is grazing the south corner.
The scientists tracking his methane have not been invited to present their findings.
Gerald has not been asked for comment.
Gerald is busy.

@lowerblakemere?si=PCIjl9ctJdbduB_L" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">youtube.com/@lowerblakemer… We’ve started filming life on the farm.
Not the polished Instagram version.
The real one:
• cattle
• soil
• food
• things breaking
• farmers fixing them badly
You can watch here.

@StevenJNorris @Jesse_Norman PS obviously I support her sacking him
English

@StevenJNorris @Jesse_Norman Even if you think he’s a traitor, saying “he’s Nigel Farage’s problem now” is the sort of petty point-scoring you’d never do about an ex-colleague in business – you’d look small and unprofessional. Politics shouldn’t sink to that level either - STANDARDS Dear… standards!

Looks like this could do with a retweet.

I am very sorry to have to say it, but that speech of Robert Jenrick's was lazy, mendacious, simplistic tripe.

Yesterday i focused on the dire state of UK defence spending, but also on the plight of our pubs. The Bay Horse in Hereford perfectly illustrates the burdens. So important for ministers to hear the actual numbers on NI, rates, wages etc. youtu.be/V2QTkUxgU0Y

@VictoriaCoren You need Bokashi - it’s changes your life - check out BOKASHI at Wiggly Wigglers - it is kombucha for kitchen waste and you will love it
(I think)
English

@KirstieMAllsopp @VictoriaCoren Stop Kirstie :) you need Bokashi - it’s amazing and simple and diverts all your kitchen and food waste and ferments it - making your own real soil is a great way to help biodiversity and sequester carbon. Check out Bokashi at Wiggly Wigglers x

@VictoriaCoren Have you seen those electric ones that turn it all into soil in weeks? So tempted.

I'm launching the 'Bring Back The Sunday Roast' campaign -
Why? Because families around Britain are losing something precious. Sunday dinners used to bring us all together - grandparents, parents, kids, neighbors - around one table, sharing proper British food and real conversation.
But it's not just about the food - it's about rebuilding the Sunday tradition that made British families stronger.
Join the Sunday Roast Revival and let's bring back proper family time, real food, and the community spirit that built our nation.
Week 1 will be a roast Chicken- for this you will need:
British Chicken
British potatoes
British Veg of your choice (ill have carrots and parsnips at least)
British Oil (for roasting)
Sea Salt
Pepper
Instant Gravy or something more special if you prefer
And family to eat it with.

Let’s be clear
Farmers didn’t want to be in London today
Livestock to feed, fields to tend, families to look after.
But what @uklabour is doing to our countryside, rural economy&their families is criminal.
The anguish on our patriarchs & matriarchs UNFORGIVABLE #axethefamilyfarmtax
