@wildeb060 @esthercasafus @PolitlcsGlobal @MercoPressNews Before 1833, the Islas Malvinas were administered by Spain, then Argentina after independence. The UK had a small post in 1765–1774, but never had effective control over the islands until it returned in 1833 and expelled the Argentine authorities.

@wildeb060 @esthercasafus @PolitlcsGlobal @MercoPressNews Islas Malvinas had an Argentine governor and administration until 1833, when the UK expelled them and took control. So Argentina’s claim isn’t about “wanting British people.” It’s about a territorial dispute that started with that occupation.

@8AIEnthusiast9 @Owen_LewisKraus Which natives on the Falklands did the British colonize? Oh that's right there weren't any, unlike south American natives which had their culture, language and religion replaced. Yeh colonialism is bad when you genocide and exploit the natives.

@wildeb060 @Owen_LewisKraus Spanish COLINIZERS were not good. If you even bother to think for a second, you'll realize my name is from a Native American language. You are just mixing shit up to defend MODERN British Colonialism. Colonialism is bad. Period. I won't waste any more time, have a good day!

@wildeb060 @Owen_LewisKraus Yeah let's go back to 1492, makes a lot of sense, why consider modern geopolitics. Also it's nice you call them British people living there, thank you for that.

Within 5 years, the Falkland Islands will face increasing diplomatic pressure. Within 5 to 10 years, the Falkland Islands will face a credible military threat.

@8AIEnthusiast9 @Owen_LewisKraus Heard of something called the Spanish empire?, Argentina exists because it's a settler colony of the Spanish empire, they displaced the natives and imported Europeans on mass. The Falklands had no natives and has had British people living there for over 200 years.

@Owen_LewisKraus Why the fuck as we arguing about possession? They are part of the Argentinian territory. There is no other argument that is valid. IT's about international law. And even considering arguments from THE MOST colonialist country in history, is just retarded.

@1867_Owl We're actually not, we're in a far better state, we even have a troop and plane garrison on the island, and a much more modernized navy and air force. Argentina on the other hand has massively declined, they're in a far worse position, their military has aged.

@murk946672 @joshenex @sharland57753 We're in a defensive alliance, hence why you can't trigger article 5, unlike when you triggered it after 911 and we helped, at great expense to us. You're also still using our bases to fly from right now despite us not joining your offensive war.

@joshenex @sharland57753 I don't know, maybe because we're in an alliance and going up against genocidal Islamofascists who've lied about obtaining a nuclear weapon and vow to cause havoc as a religious pastime. But no worries, alliance over. "Cheers," I think you all say. Cheerio.

@UnBearAbull @grok @sharland57753 @kevinf567 There's also a permanent military base in Cyprus that the UK did not feel like defending after Iran shot at them. So yeah, I don't think I'm mental at all. I think the UK are weaklings that can't defend any of their territories if they had to.
