Good news everyone! If you updated to iOS 26.4 and decide to downgrade, to 26.3.1 because it won't accept your ID, you're stuffed.. unless you have an older backup from earlier! Thank you so much @Apple @AppleSupport for wrecking my phone with your stupid obeying of draconian and invasive UK laws, and costing us 200+GB of data. I've personally used Apple products since 2011, and today is my last day. Good news is @GrapheneOS is ready to go.

PUBLISHING full software audit reports (such as third-party security/code audits, penetration tests, or smart contract audits) as a standard practice can be a risk factor, though the degree depends heavily on the industry, the level of detail shared, and whether reports are redacted or summarized. It is not inherently catastrophic, but it introduces specific downsides that many security professionals advise against for most proprietary software contexts

Yes, the couple—Trysten Cullon and Jade Stone—were arrested, charged, and prosecuted. They pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit cyberstalking. On March 12, 2026, Cullon was sentenced to 41 months in federal prison and Stone to 27 months, plus over $26,000 restitution. The victim was Christopher Tsoulos, a mentally disabled Chick-fil-A greeter in Charlotte, NC, who died by suicide after the blackmail. Tragic case.

It was because just after Return of the Jedi was released he got divorced and royalties from Star Wars Merchandise had taken a nosedive, plus that division (it was part of ILM) was haemorrhaging money so he spun it off first into it's own company (naming it Pixar after the computer it was trying to sell at the time) for $10 million (i believe it was 5 million in cash, the rest in stock in Apple, maybe @grok can verify)

George Lucas traded $350,000 in directing salary for something Fox executives thought was worthless: the right to sell Star Wars toys. It was 1976. Over 40 studios had already passed on his script, including Disney. Fox only greenlit the project because they wanted Lucas for other films. Nobody at the studio expected to make money on a space opera with no stars, so when Lucas offered to cut his directing fee from $500,000 to $150,000 in exchange for merchandising and sequel rights, Fox said yes on the spot. Movie merchandise was a dead business. Fox had lost money on Doctor Dolittle lunchboxes a decade earlier. They thought they were getting the better deal. Lucas couldn’t even find a toy company that wanted in. Kenner, a division of cereal company General Foods, finally bought the licensing for a flat $100,000. Then Star Wars opened. Between 1977 and 1978, Kenner sold $100 million worth of toys off that $100,000 investment. They couldn’t make enough for Christmas ’77, so they sold empty boxes with IOUs inside, promising to mail the action figures later. Parents paid real money for cardboard and a promise. Nobody around the production saw any of this coming. Alec Guinness, who played Obi-Wan, privately called the script “fairy-tale rubbish.” But he was shrewd enough to negotiate 2.25% of royalties instead of a flat fee. About 20 minutes of total screen time earned his estate somewhere between $50 million and $100 million. Lucas himself was so convinced the film would flop that he offered Spielberg a bet while visiting the Close Encounters set: swap 2.5% of each other’s profits. Spielberg took it. That handshake has paid him around $40 million. And then the money started compounding. Lucas poured his Star Wars profits into ILM, the effects house he’d built for the film. When its computer graphics division got too expensive to maintain, he sold it to Steve Jobs in 1986 for $10 million. Jobs renamed it Pixar. Disney bought Pixar twenty years later for $7.4 billion. Then in 2012, Disney came back for the rest, buying Lucasfilm itself for $4.05 billion. Total franchise revenue today sits around $46.7 billion, over $20 billion from merchandise alone. The filmmaker 40 studios passed on is now worth $5.3 billion according to Forbes. Fifty years ago today, cameras rolled on a desert in Tunisia. The $350,000 pay cut that made it all possible might be the best trade in business history.

For anybody saying "Just use Linux", you need to realise that Linux is worse than Windows. Windows has all the bloat, and while you can have Linux without any of that you still don't have tools like Remedybg, RAD Debugger and Super Luminal. Once you have such tools, then Linux is a suitable app development environment. But _it is still trash_ because of the whole Linux model of you needing to compile everything. The fact that you cannot run an app built using a newer version of glibc is an insane decision. I shouldn't have to upgrade my whole machine in order to run something built on a newer version. I shouldn't be worried that an upgrade will break my machine. I shouldn't be forced to compile things from scratch to work on my machine. I shouldn't be forced to install N packages, I just want self contained binaries I can just download and run. I shouldn't be forced to develop with an old distro to have "max glibc compatibility". I shouldn't have to worry about X11 / Wayland / Window Managers. I shouldn't have to worry about asking the user to select a folder, display a dialog or show notifications. Linux is such a huge waste of potential, if they got their shit together they would completely obliterate Windows. I first got into Linux in 2000, and even back then there was this "it will take over Windows any time now!". It's been _26 years_! The same way I'd pay quite a lot for Windows without any bloat, I'd be willing to pay for a distro that gives me all this.

There's 2 things here: 1) Why do I use Windows as main development platform 2) What makes Linux worse than Windows as a platform The (1) was direct answer to the comments "Windows is trash, just install Linux". (2) is still an issue. You cannot claim that Linux is objectively better for a regular user when you can't just download apps and run them, when you're forced into the world of package managers and compiling, when I found a cool app but it doesn't support notifications on my setup, when there's visual glitches / issues because I'm using a Wayland setup. Linux works great for IT ppl using terminals, that do their setup and don't touch them. For any regular user, it's objectively worse than Windows (although MS is working hard to make sure Windows 11 ruins that). And to be clear, I'm talking about the "user level", not Linux kernel.
