This moment is a turning point for the Indigenous peoples of Manipur. What was intended to divide us through fear, violence, and the weaponisation of ethnicity is instead bringing the people closer together in unity and political resolve. The Indigenous communities of Manipur are awakening with a shared understanding, to defend the land, preserve its civilisational identity, and resist every form of exploitation, occupation, and engineered division. This is no longer merely a conflict over territory. It is a struggle for dignity, truth, survival, and freedom.

Remembering the innocent lives lost in the gruesome Pahalgam terror attack on this day last year. They will never be forgotten. My thoughts are also with the bereaved families as they cope with this loss. As a nation, we stand united in grief and resolve. India will never bow to any form of terror. The heinous designs of terrorists will never succeed.

Three Tangkhul civilians including one women was reportedly killed today 18 April 2026, in an ambush carried out by suspected Kuki armed groups at around 1430 hrs between Litan and TM Kasom, under PS Litan, Ukhrul district. Several vehicles were damaged in the attack. The convoy was en route to Ukhrul/Kamjong after the escort party had dropped them at Litan from Imphal. This incident comes amid nearly three years of continuous targeting of Meetei civilians. Disturbingly, the violence now appears to have extended further, with Tangkhul Naga civilians also coming under attack in the hill districts. The situation highlights a grim irony, Kuki Narco-Terrorist armed groups continue to move freely across the hills of Manipur, launching attacks at will, while ordinary civilians remain vulnerable. Despite sustained efforts by central security forces to contain the situation, tangible progress on the ground remains limited. In today’s incident, reports indicate that Tangkhul civilians returning to Ukhrul from Imphal were ambushed, resulting in fatalities and injuries. It is also notable that the Kuki-Zo Council was quick to issue a clarification statement on the incident, though its relevance to the facts on the ground appears questionable.

@Paari_Athouba The Kukis have lived in Nagaland for ages. They are Nagaland Kukis and they formed part of Nagaland and are recognised as a tribe of Nagas. They have contributed to Naga history and were instrumental even in the Simon commission.

A government that cannot enforce the rule of law, protect its citizens, or instil even a basic sense of security has forfeited its legitimacy. Breaking News‼️ Meitei Man Killed in Churachandpur During Visit to Wife’s Home shot by kuki Militants It is learnt that on January 21, around 6:30 pm, a Meitei man identified as Mayanglambam (tribal name Ginminthang), husband of Chingnu Haokip, was allegedly kidnapped by armed miscreants, suspected to be members of UKNA, from Tuibong in Churachandpur district. According to reports, the armed men abducted both the husband and wife and took them towards Natjang area under Henglep Police Station, Churachandpur district, where the husband is suspected to have been eliminated by the kidnappers. Further details are awaited. Sources said that Mrs Chingnu Haokip had taken prior permission from the Kuki National Organisation (KNO) and Tuibong DHQ authorities to allow her husband to visit her for a few days. Her husband, who was working in Nepal, had recently come home on leave, and permission was reportedly granted by the concerned authorities. The deceased reportedly hails from Kakching Khunou.
