The Chinese Embassy’s attack on NED is a reminder of what the CCP fears most: people who can still speak freely, report honestly, and think for themselves. When the Chinese embassy attacks a reporter, it is often the clearest proof the reporting exposed something the CCP wants to keep hidden. This @washingtonpost investigation is a must-read piece. It exposes how BYD’s contractors allegedly used #forcedlabor of Chinese workers to build a factory and expand their operations in #Brazil. Non-stop work without safety equipment, 20-30 people sharing one room, confiscation of passports... These conditions akin to modern day slavery are not only bad for Chinese workers, but forced labor by Chinese companies also harms Brazilian workers, American workers, and gives Chinese companies an unfair advantage against their American rivals.
