“constructive China-U.S. relationship of strategic stability 中美建设性战略稳定关系” seems like a new formulation 提法 from Xi, and he recognizes the competition, something the orc side pushed back on for many years, at least publicly - “Xi Jinping emphasized that China is committed to the stable, healthy, and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations. President Trump and I have agreed to make building a “constructive China-U.S. relationship of strategic stability” the new positioning for China-U.S. relations, which will provide strategic guidance for the relationship over the next three years and beyond, and I believe it will be welcomed by the peoples of both countries and the international community. “Constructive strategic stability” should be a positive stability anchored mainly in cooperation, a benign stability with competition kept within bounds, a normalized stability in which differences are kept manageable, and an enduring stability in which peace can be expected. A “constructive China-U.S. relationship of strategic stability” is not a slogan but should be embodied in actions where both sides move toward each other.

I’m fighting alongside @CUyghurs @RushanAbbas to free Dr. Gulshan Abbas, who is wrongfully imprisoned in the Xinjiang region of China for the “crime” of being a practicing Muslim.
Campaign For Uyghurs@CUyghurs

Yesterday, @RepTomSuozzi, founding co-chair of the Congressional Uyghur Caucus and an unwavering voice for human rights, once again proved why he is one of the most important voices holding the CCP accountable. On the House Floor, he delivered a powerful call to conscience, championing the cause of Dr. Gulshan Abbas, sister of CFU Executive Director @RushanAbbas, alongside other prisoners of conscience, including Jimmy Lai and Pastor Ezra Jin, Father of @GraceJDrexel. As the Trump-Xi summit begins, Congressman Suozzi's leadership is more vital than ever. His advocacy reflects a moral clarity that transcends partisan lines. For years he has been a formidable ally ensuring the genocide in the Uyghur homeland remains at the forefront of the American legislative agenda. Today, Rushan met with Rep. Suozzi alongside @CUyghurstudy Executive Director @AHakimIdris and @UyghurProject Executive Director @OmerKanat1 to express our profound gratitude. We are deeply moved by his tenacious dedication and remain immensely proud to stand with such a courageous and long-time champion of our people.

I want to show you this video of legendary civil rights leader John Lewis giving advice to Jimmy Lai and protesters in Hong Kong back in 2019. With President Trump in China this week, my fight continues to free human rights advocates wrongfully imprisoned by the Chinese Communist Party, and I urge the President to join me in my fight for their release: Jimmy Lai, human rights defender; Pastor Jin Mingri, religious freedom advocate; Dr. Gulshan Abbas, a Uyghur imprisoned for the “crime” of religious difference; and every other person who has been wrongfully imprisoned by the CCP.

This is spot on. People should not read too much into Trump not being on the front page today. For Chinese media, Xi is the protagonist, not others. Trump got a Page 3 pic and announcement like other leaders prior to their visit.
Giulia Pompili@giuliapompili

The fact that Donald Trump isn’t on the front pages of Chinese newspapers is fairly typical: party papers tend to analyze events after they happen, not before. (That obsession with preemptive speculation is a pretty Western tic)
