Billingham Town FC recognises that our recent social media content may have caused upset and distress. Causing offence was never our intention, and we are concerned that the content has been interpreted in a way that has caused distress to some and for that the board of directors would like to issue an apology.
As a community football club, we are proud to support both local and national charities, and we remain committed to doing so. We will continue to use our platform to promote positive messages, support worthwhile causes, and bring our community together.

Today my thoughts remain with the three beautiful young girls Bebe, Elsie and Alice, their families and friends, and all of the victims of this tragedy.

Absolutely. If you ignore the subsidies paid to renewables operators, the constraint payments, backup costs and the enormous capex needed to connect remote wind farms to the grid they are cheaper than gas.
Unfortunately when you include them it gives us pretty much the most expensive electricity costs in the world.
But don’t let that stop you telling everyone they’re cheap.

When the Sunday Times began compiling its Rich List in 1989, the 200 wealthiest families in Britain owned wealth equivalent to about 5 per cent of GDP. Today, the same group owns the equivalent of 25 per cent. In Spain, as the Hormuz oil crisis deepened, energy prices decreased thanks to a sprawling solar network. Following the wettest winter on record, the gardens of more than 20 million people in Britain are labouring under a hosepipe ban. This might be connected to the fact that the owners of our water companies have preferred to relentlessly pay themselves dividends, and indebt their companies in the process, than invest in infrastructure and build some reservoirs. Imagine that: building a single reservoir since 1992. Imagine that: abundant green energy. Imagine that: a wealth tax. Now, imagine a world in which you proportionally pay less tax if you are wealthy. A world where idiots like you and me pay a percentage of our income, perhaps more than 50 per cent of it, to the tax man because we earn instead of own. A world where on occasion men worth $18 billion receive $4,000 in child tax credits, as Jeff Bezos did in 2011. Well you don’t need to imagine it because it’s the world we live in. It shows a supporter wearing a t-shirt that features a guillotine and the words “We’re only making plans for Nigel.”
That slogan comes from the 1979 XTC song of the same name; placed next to the guillotine, it is a piece of political satire suggesting the figurative removal of Nigel Farage, the sort of exaggerated cartoon imagery that has long been used against politicians.
It is hyperbole aimed at a public figure, not a direct threat or a call to violence.
Circulating a photo of someone else’s clothing at a political gathering does not cross the legal line for threats to kill, encouraging violence, or malicious communications.
This kind of political satire remains protected expression under Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights.
