In an open book exam, most important things are: - 1. Understanding the principles of the subject 2. Knowing what is in your notes in relation to topics - and finding it quick 3. Understand question approach 4. Time management Do not stress and over read, peruse and understand.

After Uganda President Yoweri Museveni’s address to the nation on July 4, a young ruling NRM supporter wrote to say she "wanted to contribute to building the nation by styling up Mzee’s glasses – for a small fee. Nothing radical that will take him out of his comfort zone". She sent the two "conservative samples" on the right. Could I help her reach State House, she asked. I told her the best I could do was publish them here, and if the people in the Big House are interested, I would forward her contacts.

Even when you are receiving instructions or directives, they have to be lawful and reasonable. Capt. Ainebyoona lost the case in the first round.....

While still working at @chapterfourug, I handled countless cases against the former Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence, now the Directorate of Intelligence Security - my approach in dealing with them was different from that of many human rights lawyers. I explored administrative remedies and resorted to legal remedies only after I failed to resolve an issue. I knew a court-led remedy was a long, uncertain, and often heavily influenced route. This approach meant I had numerous face-to-face interactions with the institution's leadership. There was no love lost in these interactions. They all called to my face an agent of foreigners & unpatriotic. I was unbothered and pursued accountability against their officers. The last interaction was a case of a torture victim - tortured by Capt. Amis Ainebyonna at the behest of @AnitahAmong, the Speaker of Parliament then, & her husband @MosesMagogo. It also involved @CharlesTwiine, who then worked at @Parliament_Ug in some police investigative role. I took the matter up with Brig. Rugumyo, the Deputy Commandant of CMI at the time. A series of engagements yielded worthless undertakings, and I escalated the issue to his boss, Maj. Gen. Birungi, & at some point involving @AndrewMwenda, a close friend of Birungi. The matter was never resolved - at least in the manner I had envisioned. Let's say the client found a remedy, albeit a half remedy, and was content with what he finally got. Throughout the process, the CMI officers derisively referred to their boss and ‘the cook’. I understand he was a chef in the army at some point. I had my suspicions about him, but I never knew that he took to cooking false terror alarms. The once powerful Capt. Amis is in prolonged military detention ( I hope he gets a fair trial); the folks who unleashed him to do unspeakable things to fellow citizens may well end up in jail for corruption (I hope for torture and murder as well); the folks who looked away and allowed him to use CMI facilities are in jail, and the others are under house arrest. Power is transient. Use it well so that when your tour of duty is over, you will not live in regret or have a tumultuous ending.

@LDC_Uganda Oral Practical Exams… 1. Be composed & confident. 2. Listen to questions & understand them properly. If needed, relay the facts to the panel to ensure you are spot on. 3. Where you feel unsure, define key terms first- rest will flow. Trust in yourself. Good luck

@NamaraDennisMP Hold the CDF accountable under the existing laws or amend the laws to hold him accountable since he feasts on consolidated funds then we would appreciate your efforts. The rest is noise and wasting the taxpayers' resources in bills.

If the opposition are genuine in pursuit for accountability, why would they be against having a LOP whom they can call to order? How can someone want to feast on the consolidated fund when he is not willing to be held accountable? I call upon all Ugandans of sound mind to join us in this journey. Anyone who doesn't want to be held accountable must be hiding something . Let opposition MPs elect their own Leader of Opposition!

@NamaraDennisMP @JoelSsenyonyi Logical to your reasoning, the CDF draws his salary from the consolidated fund and is not accountable to Parliament. Would you wish to amend the law on how he is appointed? Is this an area where Ugandans have been lamenting and your efforts should be directed?

The amendment of the law to put a better process through which the Leader of Opposition is chosen is not targeting our brother @JoelSsenyonyi. The proposed amendment will focus on LOP, Commissioners & Committee leadership. It's not about an individual called Ssenyonyi as some want to allege. Its a law that will work even when @NUP_Ug is no longer the leading opposition party.

I met Otafiire in 1974 during the anti-Amin struggle. I have known him to be on the right path of the Movement.

@NicholasAg61766 @ug_lawsociety @IsaacSsemakadde Counsel you need to appreciate the whole concept of Rule of Law but you can better understand it when you appreciate what governmmentality is. A functional and effective government ought to embrace different players; not as enemies but offering a complimentary role!
