Instead, verbally trigger dopamine. Ask "What's good?" or "Working on anything exciting lately?" This gets their brain searching for good things, and you can watch their body language change. Trigger those positive thoughts and you become the person they remember.

Never ask "How are you?" Behavioral researcher Vanessa Van Edwards (@vvanedwards) tested the most common conversation starters. It came in dead last. It's a script. They already know their line.
