There should be a federal ban on human composting Firstly, there is no way to tell pharmaceuticals and pathogens in the body will be fully broken down and could enter the food supply Second, it is an abhorrent practice and we all know where it leads

@HalcyonOdyssey @JDHaltigan Subspecies are identified by different physical characteristics. There’s no way an Australian aborigine is in the same subspecies as a blonde, fair skinned Celt.

What's the argument here? European racial concepts were conceived of in the 1600's before the concept of genetics existed. It's an association of visible characteristics, not genetic makeup, or culture for that matter. British culture isn't the same as Romanian, Mongolian culture isn't the same as Korean, ect.

@JDHaltigan How come subspecies exist in all animal kingdoms except human? Distinct, visually different, locally adapted subspecies that are capable of interbreeding? I’ve seen subspecies of birds that look more similar to each other than an Australian aborigine compared to a Celt.

Once you hit about a 20-point IQ gap, communication starts to completely break down. It's not that the lower IQ person is "stupid" (although that can often be the case) or the higher one is arrogant, it's that you're literally operating on different systems. A 20 point difference (roughly 1.3 standard deviations) means: Vocabulary and abstraction levels diverge sharply. What feels like crystal clear logic to one side sounds like vague, pretentious word salad to the other. Jokes land flat. Metaphors get taken literally. Complex cause and effect chains get simplified into "this good, that bad." Different time horizons and pattern recognition. One person thinks in months or years and sees systems, the other is locked into days or immediate rewards. Trying to explain second order effects feels like speaking another language. Also, processing speed and working memory gaps. The higher IQ person is already three steps ahead, getting impatient. The lower IQ person feels talked down to or overwhelmed. Both walk away frustrated. Both have wasted each others time.

@conbatzor @JoeRoganRecaps No, I can’t imagine killing higher tech, scientists and inventors and hampering civilizational progress. Why wouldn’t we use the new tech, make it marketable and profitable, lead the world in it? Build huge factories making it?

Joe Rogan learns the real reason for all the missing scientists from Eric Weinstein: ROGAN: “So what exactly are these scientists that went missing working on that’s so dangerous?” WEINSTEIN: “It’s really important to do great gatekeeping around mathematics and physics. It’s cryptography, it’s weaponry, and it’s propulsion.” ROGAN: “If some guy has cutting edge technology that could wipe out the fossil fuels industry it’s in their best financial interest to kill the guy at the top of this research to delay this technology 10 more years to make another $15 trillion dollars.”

It's the 20th Anniversary of Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth." NONE of his scary predictions have come true. Mt. Kilimanjaro still has snow and Glacier National Park still has glaciers. Here's why we are not doomed:

Petraeus: The U.S. has not remotely learned the lessons it should from Ukraine. This is the future of war: Ukraine alone uses 10,000 drones a day, and 90% of Russian casualties are caused by drones. That should force institutional change. 1/

Kamala is going to be the nominee. The more Gavin Newsom talks the less people like him. If he were a black woman that wouldn’t matter, but Newsom has no base. He and Mayor Pete will battle for the white wine moms. Shapiro is Jewish and done. It’s going to be Kamala.

@japan_nobunaga I’m curious about this too. In Japan, guns are not part of normal daily life at all, so many Japanese people only see them in movies, anime, or news. For Americans, does seeing guns in public feel normal?

Hello from Japan 🇯🇵👋 I have a question for Americans 🇺🇸🙋 I've never seen a real gun in my life. Only in anime and movies. Is it true that Americans sometimes see guns at stores like Walmart? In Japan, we only see them on TV. Is that normal in America? 🤔

@japan_nobunaga It depends on what state you’re in. In Arizona, yes you could see guns in grocery stores or anywhere. There is no concealed carry permit restriction in Arizona, so everyone has guns in their purses, cars, and homes. It makes you feel safer.

@StpeterPadilla @Softnessa_ He’s actually cleaning up his reputation. He was one of the guys that took over an Arizona prison guard tower for 2 weeks in 2002. His codefendant attempted to rape the female hostage and this guys killing of child molesters is an attempt to clean his name up.

@Softnessa_ He’s trying to clean up his reputation from the hostage standoff which he was involved in. Apparently, his codefendant tried to rape the female hostage and he was charged with it. He’s trying to make it safer for him in prison.

@9mmsmg Indian reservations are a testament to the generosity of the victors. Who else in history allowed the conquered tribes to have their own land? When an Indian tribe took over the land of the previous tribe, they did not allow the conquered tribe to have a chunk of the land.

There is no reason we should still have Indian reservations. It's been long enough. It's not like the reservation is doing them any good. They're riddled with alcohol abuse, domestic abuse and extreme poverty. It's not helping them, it's hurting them. They sit in the reservation and breed resentment, acting like they are stuck there. It needs to be one or the other at the very least. You can have the reservation or have America, you don't get both. The era of victimhood is over. Go join society or stay on the res, but pick one. The reality is, most are just angry that men with white faces conquered them instead of another warring tribe. They're angry they were conquered by men named John instead of Chief Buffalo Drinkrain. End the res.

The health consciousness stuff has gone massively overboard. People walking around with bands tracking their vital signs every second of the day like they’re astronauts on the ISS. Treating alcohol or sugar like it’ll kill them if they look at it. Tracking their sleep. Counting their steps. It’s possible to live a healthy life without being an obsessive, paranoid lunatic. You’re gonna die either way. In a few decades you’ll be just as dead as the rest of us, if not sooner. Relax a little and live your life while you still can.

A snake showed up in our backyard yesterday. Instead of panicking, I sent this photo to my OpenClaw. It identified it as a harmless gopher snake, gave me a local number to call to confirm, and suggested ways to catch it to make it a pet for the kids. I have small moments like this everyday now, usually less dramatic, that remind me how AI has made daily life feel a little more magical.
