New Twitter policy is freedom of speech, but not freedom of reach. Negative/hate tweets will be max deboosted & demonetized, so no ads or other revenue to Twitter. You won’t find the tweet unless you specifically seek it out, which is no different from rest of Internet.

People have been pretty bad, historically, at predicting apocalypses. Explosive events are rare, and not easily forecasted. Unless a meteor hits HQ, a sixteen year old company is probably not going to die overnight.

Having worked for people like Elon before, if you're thinking "I'll join and it'll be different. That will never happen to me" No. Sooner or later, it will be you. You'll say something they don't like or in a way they don't like. You'll be put on the shitlist and kicked out.

Word inside Twitter is that A LOT of employees are not saying “yes” to staying at Musk’s “extremely hardcore Twitter 2.0.” He has been meeting today with engineers to convince them to stay. His deadline to decide to stay or leave expired 6 min ago. theverge.com/2022/11/17/234…

Story to be updated soon with more: Am hearing that several “critical” infra engineering teams at Twitter have completely resigned. “You cannot run Twitter without this team,” one current engineer tells me of one such group. Also, Twitter has shut off badge access to its offices.

What I'm hearing from Twitter employees is that there aren't any.

@idiolekt it seems like they're on a skeleton crew right now, they're already on borrowed time. It might go down, but it will take a while to restore the service. As for Elon realizing what he's done... seems unlikely given his past.

I'm actually rather skeptical that Twitter will disappear. My suspicion is that it will either continue in some very limited state, or Elon will realize the nature of what he has done and reverse course.
