Sorry bud, but Charlie didn’t believe that. Charlie believed in merit. He believed in hard work. He said when United Airlines said they were going to push black pilots *directly because of their skin color* and actual skill would be a secondary qualification, that it brought doubt to his mind when he saw one of their black pilots. His message was clearly anti-DEI and not anti-black. If anything, black folks should have agreed. We don’t need DEI. We can perform on our own. Instead, they embraced it. Shameful. The problem with people like you is you hear what you want to hear and believe what you want to believe, whether it’s accurate or not.

There's a good chance that this Michigan team -- who frequently featured a lineup consisting entirely of transfers -- will be remembered as a watershed; the beginning of transfer-portal superteams.
