@dayville_girl My partner died suddenly in 2023. I think I was in shock for months. I took our cat & stayed with my brother & his wife 1,000 miles away for 3 months. It was comforting for me; I was so unmoored. It’s gotten easier over time but I will miss him dearly until the day I die.

Not sure if anyone will see this. But I seem to be having a hard time with the sudden death of my husband, Brad. He passed on November 23rd, so just a bit over three months ago. sad to hear of older persons who don't make appointments for essential procedures like colonoscopies because, in our state at least, you have to have someone whom you know pick you up after the procedure; you can't hire a taxi or uber. most of their friends are older like themselves & don't drive; one said, "I don't want to bother my relatives any more than I need to." are other states like N.J.? all things having to do with health care seem to be increasingly hostile, difficult especially for not-wealthy people who live alone.
