@WorcsFaithful 9 picks itself. Non negotiables for me are pennell and Sanderson - as they both single handedly carried the teams they were in at times. 9 picks itself. Other honourable mentions who I thought were great players and always wanted on the pitch Mama Venter Sammy T Benjamin

Bumped into my friend @andyworcs earlier & was chatting all things @WorcsWarriors when he asked who was my favourite fly-half of all time. Got me thinking about picking my favourite 15… it wasn’t easy! Here’s my team (no subs… yet!), a mixture of the best & some favourites.

@posterboyjohn @RugbyTigers Not really - the likes of Saints and Bath are great to watch, have likeable DoRs and don’t have its fans being bitter after matches or mugging people off. Tigers (and Gloucester) are the complete opposite.

@WorcsFaithful I know it was a friendly v bath but I don’t understand how we ran their full strength treble winning side so close having never played together, and yet the longer they’ve had to gel since the more they seem to have regressed

@HeTalksRugby @FromLe2 Not quite sure how you can say so firmly they have a better pack when you compare the performance of the teams over the last 3 years. A backline alone does not win the league and get you champions cup final

Genuine question, is there a better place in England to play your rugby than Northampton Saints right now? If you were a young player, had the choice of all the Prem clubs of where you could play, factoring the current squad, coaching group, style of play, stadium - everything, I honestly don’t think you could choose anywhere other than Northampton.

@FromLe2 @HeTalksRugby Ha slightly biased.. is that why saints have Cole’s, Davison, and pollock in England 23 and would have Langdon and iyogen in wider squad. Saints have better pack than tigers every day of the week

@willgkelleher @Find_The_River @danscho1 What is funny is how journalists think they’ve got a free hit to write whatever they want about a person or situation yet as soon as it reciprocates onto them / their profession they get overly defensive.

What a silly way for Townsend to dismiss this legitimate reporting by @danscho1. Why would the Calcutta Cup, taking place next week, have any bearing on a news story that he is lined up to be the Newcastle coach? Basically an open secret, now. "English" newspaper funny too...
Mark Palmer@MarkPalmerST

"Don't take the bait from an English newspaper trying to do something the week ahead of Calcutta Cup" - Gregor Townsend categorically denies a report he has already agreed a deal to join Newcastle Red Bulls full-time after the World Cup. Update @TimesSport thetimes.com/article/49b5e7…

By 2020/21, Maro Itoje had 4x PREM titles, 3x Champions Cups, 3x Six Nations, 2x WR Player of the Year nominations, 1x European Player of the Year and had been a POTM in a Lions test match Saying he has gone from the CHAMP to International stage might be a stretch lads...

@RugbyWorcs Agree with a lot of it. The rotation is biggest frustration, how can they build cohesion when half the team is changing every week. Would also like more on injury report and just general interviews as don’t feel like we really know what’s going on compared to the old prem days

Things that I want to see going forward: Kicking when we have the opportunity for simply, straight forward points More structure and signs of an overall style of play. We've been winning games with flashes of individual brilliance from good players like Jake, Will, Khalik Kareem etc al. I want to see dominance through consistency, especially in our own half More cohesion at the lineout as today was really quite poor Better leadership on the pitch - not starting Matt Kvesic really showed IMO More consistency in the lineups. We need to bed in our best side now. The constant shake ups are starting to grate on me a bit Injury reports. How far off are Josh Bassett, Matt Rogerson etc? Zero talk about the Prem from the club or other fans for now. We've got work to do first and we need to pay this competition that we're in some respect. We're so so far off being able to compete at that level and we have to earn it first On to Ealing. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried. Still in a generally positive place with our project, why wouldn't I be? But I want to see some signs of turning into a serious outfit. We've looked like we've regressed in recent weeks.

@neilfissler Both Martin and Smith were offered contracts, true I have no idea what was in them but particularly in Martins case, surely he owed Tigers a degree of loyalty having come through the academy?

@GeraintEvans3 @bensmithrugby You obviously don’t realise the series is 3 matches v Aus? I’d also like to see these so called poor stats you refer too… or maybe you’re the classic bias Welshman with a certain agenda

Player of the series so far has to be Tom Curry. Swayed the first Test with big plays, produced more again in the second. Huge turnover tackle on Suaalii crucial. No other Lions player has been as influential.

@Hurricane15 @CharlieDrugby @RugbyInsideLine Yes and that’s because they’ve all been given a hell of a lot more game time. Hill made his England debut almost 7 years ago and never been given a chance despite consistently having stand out club matches. It doesn’t make sense

@CharlieDrugby @RugbyInsideLine I agree, I’ve been calling for him to start in full strength England. I just think others have taken the small chances better than he has, it’s micro stuff as England back row depth is now amazing! Pollock, B. Curry, Underhill, CCS and Pepper have all had stand out moments

🌹 The case of Ted Hill is a curious one. Undeniably talented and athleticly gifted. A seriously good Prem player too. What is it England don't see in him? Work rate, training attitude, or something niche that the stat men are throwing up?

@chrisjonespress @SBarnesRugby @TimesSport I think the player with most similar circumstances to him is lawes (retired after 2023 wc both v exp and played in France - although lawes been in better form But I think lawes in reality is a long way off making the squad as Andy doesnt know him so well - surely thats nepotism?

@chrisjonespress @SBarnesRugby @TimesSport I actually think the opposite. I think there is logic (experience etc) to it but I think if he is not his dad (and doesn’t know exactly what he’d bring) he doesn’t get a look in. He’s the only player out of form in the squad but as it’s his dad he knows qualities first hand (1/2
