For all my friends who cook rice, but it isn’t part of your regular diet:
Please be sure to rinse your rice until the water runs clear.
Yours Truly,

How are we supposed to dispose of medication?
Putting it in the garbage seems like a bad idea as it could get into the water system etc.
My @cvspharmacy won’t accept them.
So I have an entire nightstand drawers filled with unused Rx’s.
Shouldn’t there just be a dropbox at every pharmacy counter?
@dianaberrent@cvspharmacy Not sure the proper method but there are countless studies of trace amounts of meds showing up in tap water from people flushing them down the toilet and other non recommend disposal methods.
@4thdegreeofmom@FaithLikeAbish2 I feel like I need to run a head to head comparison, just to be sure. We might be having double the rice for dinner tonight.
@4thdegreeofmom@FaithLikeAbish2 You have mentioned this several times, as if clumping together is some kind of travesty. Seems like that would just make it easier to eat.
@FaithLikeAbish2 Rinsing reduces the starch on the rice so you get fluffy rice that isn’t clumped together.
If you’re using uncle Ben’s rice, I’m sure it doesn’t need a rinsing. 🤣
We use short grain rose rice.
@MamaCAllen Rinsing removes the starch so you have nice fluffy individual rice grains once cooked instead of caked clumps. It also removes any dirt, debris, bugs, chemicals (arsenic), and other things that cling to it during its transportation.
@Simon_Ingari There is something wrong with this employee if he doesn't already know that facial expressions convey a lot of meaning. Just an eyebrow raise can say everything.
Manager: Hey, quick one. Can you stay back for a minute after this call?
Employee: Sure.
Manager: First, thank you for staying muted throughout the meeting.
Employee: No problem. I was just listening.
Manager: Yes… about that.
Employee: About what?
Manager: Even though you were muted, your face was not.
Employee: Sorry?
Manager: Your facial expressions were very loud.
Employee: I did not say anything.
Manager: You didn’t have to. Every time someone spoke, your face gave a full response.
Employee: I was just reacting internally.
Manager: Unfortunately, it was extremely external.
Employee: So what are you saying?
Manager: Going forward, I appreciate you staying muted, but I’m also going to need you to turn your camera off.
Employee: You want me off video?
Manager: Yes.
Employee: Because of my face?
Manager: Because your face keeps submitting feedback no one asked for.
Employee: That is actually fair.
Manager: Thank you for understanding.
Employee: I genuinely forgot my face has subtitles.
My advice: if you’re like me and teaching gospel doctrine, lean into this. Cut the fluff. No more recapping full lessons. Prayerfully identify 1-2 doctrinal points. Go deep into them. You don’t need an hour to make an impact. Ask good questions and let the spirit guide you.
God said Adam and Eve would “surely die” the same day they ate the forbidden fruit.
Adam and Eve almost lived (according to the Bible) for a thousand years.
And we’re told that god tells the truth?
I went to a steakhouse in Miami, paid the bill, and they automatically added a 20% tip.
When the waiter brought the check, he said: “That tip goes to the whole establishment—if you want to leave something for me, it’s extra.”
I didn’t add anything else—20% is already too much. He gave me a dirty look, like I was robbing him.
This tipping culture is out of control.
@nk0x__@RealPostFolder No need to lie. Just say, "I have something to take care of." Anyone with any social skills will know that they need to drop it at that point and no lies.
@RealPostFolder literally just lie, like, unless they need you accountable for some legal reason like just say that you have plans with an old friend, or some shit. It's a half day, nothing is weird. they're not gonna hook you up to a polygraph.
@Aguirre115622@WomenBeingAwful Well that list is terrible. Less likely to have a mental illness? That is only true for a very narrow definition of mental illness.
@DelusionPosting No one would agree with either, but why would reposting be "targeted harassment"?
Because you showed what they posted?
Ppl are muppets.
@Warr4Christ@InternetReels Hmm. All the training I have gotten has said to stay in the car and keep your hands on the wheel. Anything else will make the officer nervous.
Daughter refused to pull over while rushing her mom, who was having a stroke, to the hospital.
I support our men and women in blue, but with a stroke every second matters.
Did the officer handle this the right way?
The waste!!
What are we going to do with the nuclear waste?!
Nuclear waste byproducts can be easily stored in steel-lined concrete casks until the fission products decay. They are compatible and they take up little space.
The photo below shows what 45 years’ worth of waste looks like stored at the North Anna Nuclear Generating Station in Louisa County, Virginia.
In fact, all of the waste generated in the U.S. since 1950 would take up no more than an area the size of an American football field stacked to up to a depth of 10 yards.
Your fear is irrational.
@CaptAmericaTx@PR0GRAMMERHUM0R This is not entirely true. LLMs learn on existing and code and then they generate a new one. LLM is not a better Google search engine. It is closer to elite software engineer writing massive codebases from scratch based on his own knowledge.
Former Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy on how she changed Star Wars:
"The fact that the company was bought by The Walt Disney Company has been amazing because they very much support the fact that we are trying to grow in the work force a number of women in executive positions and in all positions inside the company.
And with the movies that we are making and with the protagonists that we are putting in the stories. So I get a huge amount of support with that
But we have 50% of our executive team are women. And six out of eight of the people in my story group are women. And I’m sure there’s a lot of people that would be surprised that we’re making Star Wars movies and the majority of the people involved in the development of those stories are women. And I think it’s making a huge difference in the stories that we’re trying to tell."
Was this a mistake?
