So... I have a book deal with Penguin Press. The book is called The Edge of Everything. I am, at this exact moment, moderately terrified. It's about what you'd expect from this channel... the deepest physics, consciousness, free will, meaning, identity, written as a journey to the edge of what can be said, and what may be past it. Help me not blow it: 1) What do popular physics and philosophy books keep getting wrong? The more honest, the better. "Boring" is fine. "Pretentious" is fine. "Insulted my intelligence on page 3" is great. etc. 2) What do you actually want covered? Specific topics, guests' ideas you wish someone would push further, questions you've never seen done justice. Reply here, on X, or via carrier pigeon. I read everything. Thank you! I hope to not disappoint you.

Please ask Anil why he ignores Orch OR in his biological naturalism. Based on quantum effects in microtubules inside neurons, it is the only theory of consciousness with significant explanatory power, biology and experimental validation. academic.oup.com/nc/article/202…

That’s an interesting theory, I’ll look more into tonight. I’ve also always wondered how, in a universe with ever increasing entropy, life formed. The human body is damn near the lowest entropy, most highly organized thing in the universe. How could that be possible if the 2nd law of thermodynamics holds? If you want to trade ideas, feel free to check out this article and let me know what you think.

I can't believe how good this turned out. Recently, I put out my first physics paper proposing that life and the universe might be the result of a law governing how oscillators sync up and couple together. I find it beautiful, awe-inspiring, and deeply meaningful. It aligns with how I have always seen the world. It suggests that there is an arrow of negative entropy, a law governing how life forms in all of its complexity. Learning about it is intimidating. I am self-taught, and have struggled for months to understand and articulate the core concepts and framework. After I put out the paper, I was challenged by @DanielleFong to make an 'explorable explanation'. A guide you can walk through, and which will hold your hand through each concept, equation, and principle. It was amazing to make. In fact, I plan to make many more covering the wide range of topics I have been researching and exploring. Both to help me, and because I believe that this is something the world needs right now. I’m not moving the goalposts and you’re the dipshit. My 2004 article explained why mitosis requires entanglement among mitotic spindles. Just because conventional naive explanations exist doesn’t make them right, like cartoon neurons cause consciousness and amyloid plaques cause Alzheimer’s. I think quantum entanglement is a key and essential feature of life. Goodbye.

Actually pretty good. It works at 19 kilohertz which is too fast for membranes so must be coupling with microtubule time crystals. How would cartoon neuron (<100 hertz) proponents explain it?

Thanks Eric We almost met once. Roger Penrose tried to introduce us but you looked away dismissively. You haven’t changed. You didn’t respond to my criticisms of your positions which I conclude to mean you have no viable responses. Without consciousness you have a theory of nothing. Meanwhile the 30 year old Penrose-Hameroff Orch OR theory of consciousness has more explanatory power, biological connection and experimental validation than all other theories combined. academic.oup.com/nc/article/202…

Roger Penrose is a serious person. You aren’t doing him any favors here, sir. If you truly appreciate his contributions, you might consider that as his collaborator. Just a thought. Otherwise, it’s nice to meet you Doctor.

For the first few months, your wife will inevitably do most of the hard work taking care of your son, especially if breastfeeding so it’ll be your job to take complete care of your wife. Take on every non-baby-related chore you can manage to keep her cortisol low. Cook, clean, massages, encouraging naps, baths, etc. Best of luck to you and your wife. Also do some research about when to expect the biggest hormone fluctuations - apparently when my wife stopped breastfeeding, her hormones dropped off a cliff and we both had no idea that would happen. Will be good to anticipate those times and know what to expect. Best of luck, my friend. You’re in for a journey of a lifetime

And according to @StuartHameroff, there are systems of entangled coherent quantum systems in the microtubules of our brains. If our consciousness/soul could SELECT the outcome of those coherent quantum systems in our microtubules, that could cascade and amplify in our brains to create our actions. 1. Microtubules create coherent quantum systems in the brain. 2. Our consciousness selects the outcome of those coherent quantum systems and they collapse as directed by our consciousness. 3. Free will is preserved. Consciousness gives commands to the brain and body by deciding how to collapse coheren microtubule systems. We’re just a meat suit that’s designed to amplify infinitesimally small wavefunctions collapse outcomes, made by our soul, into macroscopic effects.

People often say that science and religion are incompatible. However, there are 2 undisputed FACTS about science that give plenty of room for religion to coexist. 1. The final outcome or state of a coherent quantum system is, in advance, fundamentally unknowable in practice and in principle. Quantum mechanics and the Schrödinger equation can give only probability distributions of all possible outcomes, but collapse outcomes simply cannot be predicted with certainty in advance of measurement. 2. According to 1000s of experiments proving the violation of Bell’s inequality tells us that the final outcome of those quantum system ARE NOT EVEN PRE-DEFINED BEFORE COLLAPSE. The quantum system itself has been show to not even have a predefined outcome, until the moment of collapse. If our universe is a simulation, someone with an “admin login” could easily select the outcomes of countless quantum systems (instead of collapsed states being random) and make miracles look trivial.

In a couple hours, we'll be rolling out About This Account globally, allowing you to see the country or region where an account is based. This will be accessible by tapping the signup date on profiles. This is an important first step to securing the integrity of the global town square. We plan to provide many more ways for users to verify the authenticity of the content they see on X. And for those in countries where speech has penalties, we've included privacy toggles to only show your region. This was a huge undertaking. A special thanks to the engineers who made this happen: @sandeep_rao @singhai @mingsong @striedinger @rzhao0506

Sam Altman is Hitler in 1941. Overconfident after early blitzkrieg victories. Biting off more than he can chew on multiple fronts. Badly overextended. Classic hubris. On hardware: Sam has zero experience with hardware. He dropped billions on Jony Ive but Jony is just a designer. He doesn't do logistics. He doesn't build factories. He doesn't know how to scale production. Apple had been making hardware for decades when Jony came in and designed the iPod and iPhone. What has Sam made? An app? Why should this convince investors he can make hardware? At best, the hardware will be vaporware. At worst, it's a lethal overextension. On infrastructure: Stargate is a flop. His announcement today that they have a contract with Oracle for 4.5gw screams "We have no capability to integrate" Google and Meta have data centers already. Zucc doesn't have to go smooth talk a Saudi for funding. He already got it like that. Meanwhile Altman is going around begging for trillions like some pauper. Embarrassing. Elon publicly called it underfunded bullshit. How's the underlying business? Well it's bleeding money. Prices were jacked up to pay for the compute. He's got a dozen lawsuits. Nonstop whistleblowers. On staff: Everyone is leaving. Retention is a nightmare. Employee equity is all tied up to some fugazi nonprofit scheme, honestly who knows what the fuck is going on there. So he's waging a two-front war (hardware/infra) while hemorrhaging talent. His generals like Ilya and Leike walked even before 100m TC was on the table. Now his officers are defecting. Next will be the janitors. You can build all the castles you want, if your garrison deserts it's a wrap. Stargate is a just another fuel starved Panzer on the frontlines. So what does Altman say? Utopian bullshit. Universal basic compute. Universal basic income. Promising the dream to keep you on board. Everybody is gonna get the best healthcare. You'll all live forever. We'll cure whatever your least favorite disease is. This is the mark of a huckster. He is selling you the Wunderwaffe. The wonder weapon. The clincher. The panacea. The thing that will keep your parents from dying. The technology that will save your babies. The monkey's paw. The fountain of youth. The magic bullet. Meanwhile OpenAI is exhausted, spread thin on multiple fronts. Zucc is closing in on him like Stalin. Google is blasting him. The Chinese are killing him on opensource. His officers are routing and switching sides. The company isn't expected to be cash-flow positive for years. It's over. He's doing too much. His only way out is to stop fighting two fronts with borrowed ammo or start making some allies fast.

I have no doubt that he’s entirely sincere, but … why is this being filmed for internet clicks? The kid just had a traumatic brain injury. He’s going to be seeing and saying a lot of things. Even if he legit sees Jesus and his dad, this is disrespectful to him. He is not a trend. He is not clickbait. He’s a precious child who’s been through a horrific ordeal. If, in time, he recovers and wants to share his experience, awesome. But it should be on his terms. This is wrong.

Child claims to see his deceased father and Jesus after getting into a skateboarding accident. The child, 'Cason,' was seen crying as he stared up at the ceiling in his hospital bed. His father passed away from cancer three years ago. "[Mom] was crying also but was shocked of the words coming out of his mouth," said the mom's co-worker, who shared the video. "He and his mom had been in the hospital for hours. He woke up after church and saw Jesus," she added. Video: blancacervantes2013 / tt.

After two incredible years, I’ve decided to step down as CEO of 𝕏. When @elonmusk and I first spoke of his vision for X, I knew it would be the opportunity of a lifetime to carry out the extraordinary mission of this company. I’m immensely grateful to him for entrusting me with the responsibility of protecting free speech, turning the company around, and transforming X into the Everything App.  I’m incredibly proud of the X team - the historic business turn around we have accomplished together has been nothing short of remarkable.  We started with the critical early work necessary to prioritize the safety of our users—especially children, and to restore advertiser confidence. This team has worked relentlessly from groundbreaking innovations like Community Notes, and, soon, X Money to bringing the most iconic voices and content to the platform. Now, the best is yet to come as X enters a new chapter with @xai . X is truly a digital town square for all voices and the world’s most powerful culture signal. We couldn’t have achieved that without the support of our users, business partners, and the most innovative team in the world.  I’ll be cheering you all on as you continue to change the world.  As always, I’ll see you on 𝕏
