Some, like Iranians, could face imprisonment or worse if they are forced to go “wait it out” in Iran.

Hugely disappointing immigration news today.
Recently married the love of my life who is from Iran. We have not yet filed for her green card, and her visa does not allow for re-entry to the US.
As a 4th year PhD candidate, she came to this country to pursue a better life and has dedicated her research to improving sustainable infrastructure in the US. Never expecting to be pushed away by this great country…
This new policy may require her to leave the US after graduation in order to apply for her green card… and then she’d need to wait for the green card to be approved before returning to the US… which could take YEARS.
Ultimately, if the government requires her to leave, then we shall leave… but we sure hope doesn’t come to that. This isn’t right.

Today is my last day @xai.
xAI has been an incredible place where hard work is truly rewarded. On leave from my PhD at Berkeley, 6 months here felt like 2 years anywhere else: I contributed to 4 different agent teams and had the opportunity to lead an agent research team myself.
