@Men_Of_Purpose It's written in the scriptures, and it's not some idle claim:
You want it darker - We kill the flame.
A million candles burning, for the help that never came.
You want it darker - We kill the flame.

@Truth_matters20 the more you feed your belief-system with affirmative input, the more you can trick yourself into thinking your dellusions are real.

@robin17748254 if i would think he would be real, I'd be freaking terrified. Guy would have to be a monster by the state of things.

@Adam_FaithfulM But people die for delusions all the time. Are you saying the members of Heaven's Gate were right because they killed themselves in anticipation of a UFO? Belief serves psychological needs; it’s not concerned with reality, but with the function a belief can serve.
English

@GodlyAction laughable, compared to the true, justified object of worship: invisible man in sky.
English

@wendelltalks It's a more efficient illusion, we are cutting out the illusionary god as the middle man.
English

@AgainstAtheismX Hint: the number people who have risen somebody from the dead is equal between believers and non-believers.
English

@darwintojesus don't think you understand the sentiment. gods existence does not explain how the universe began because that's just avoiding the question. The question then becomes how did god begin.

@JustinF1re @5Solas2 This being your number one example of a prophecy in the Bible tells me what I already know: you look at the world only for proof of something you are mentally dependent on. The mind always finds proof for what it needs to believe in order to feel stable.
English

@5Solas2 430 years - 70 years Babylonian captivity = 360 years
360 years x 7 times punishment = 2520 years.
Converting 2520 years from the ancient calendar to modern calendar = 1948 A.D.

@JustinF1re @5Solas2 Only the Bible does not say that at all. It does not say “1948 years from Jesus’s birth.” It says 430 years, which does not match anything. Then you take another line — “I will punish you seven times more” — and start some dubious equation to claim it adds up to 1948 in hindsight
English

@5Solas2 God gave a prophecy in the Bible that Israel was to be punished and scattered until 1948 A.D. And it was the EXACT year of 1948 when Israel became a nation again!
Ezekiel 4:1-8, Jeremiah 29:10-14 & Leviticus 26:18 prophesied that Israel was to be punished for 430 years ⤵️

Atheism has it's prophets (e.g., Dawkins), it's sacred texts (e.g., Origin Of the Species), it's temples (Alain De Botton Atheist Temple).
This all seems rather religious.
Ugo Cannon@UgoCannon
Atheism is not a religion! It’s the refusal to accept claims without evidence. Atheists are simply people willing to ask critical questions, challenge old beliefs, and think for themselves without fear of where the answers may lead.
English

@darwintojesus there is no way you think this is an argument or a burn without having suffered major brain damages in your life before.
English

@JustinF1re @usedtoparty @5Solas2 and who wrote that down? Who compiled these texts and when? Do you see the problem with somebody writing about something that happened in the past, saying that somebody else was told about this even before that? Now did the bible predict anything happening in modern times?
