@BarneyFlames But really the fact that the outcome has annoyed redpushers like you so much that they’re still cope-posting about it a week later is hilarious. Best possible outcome in basically all ways.

Its annoying that empathetic midwits have so much discursive power because of their numbers. They can just pretend things are not what they actually are. "What about Muh children" is simply changing the red/blue problem to something it is not.

@JDM_Twit @EselKicker44 @0ctoberfullmoon I’ve eaten bread in Germany. Have you ever been inside a supermarket in America or is this just you parroting your half-formed impressions from the culture America has sold to you since childhood?

@xg277 @EselKicker44 @0ctoberfullmoon No you can’t lol. Some small bakeries in the us produce authentic bread but pretty much everything you get in supermarkets would not be allowed to be classified as bread in most of Europe

@deestiv @Elliesmommyy23 That’s not to say there has been no change though. As much as Advanced Maternal Age as a term can be considered somewhat insulting, it’s still much better than the one they used originally, Geriatric Pregnancy.

@deestiv @Elliesmommyy23 Inertia is powerful. They’ve been using that cutoff for charting, studies, and insurance decision making for decades. No one party is motivated enough to try to shift the terminology. So much easier to just adapt your study/terminology/whathaveyou to what everyone already knows

@deestiv @Elliesmommyy23 And it just so happens to cross over at 35. So anyone over 35 was labelled AMA to make it clear that if they wanted to pursue amniocentesis to find out if their pregnancy had Down Syndrome was more likely to find Down syndrome than cause a miscarriage. Everything since is inertia

@deestiv @Elliesmommyy23 The actual answer is kind of arbitrary. Back when they where setting the number they looked for the point where the age related risk for a Down syndrome pregnancy was higher than the quoted risk for miscarriage after amniocentesis (about 1 in 400 at the time).

@MadanCas @meghanncuniff He knows Afroman didn’t. He can’t answer straight because if he acknowledged on the stand that it is an obvious joke/exaggeration that a reasonable person would recognize as such than that would undercut his claim for damages. It The People vs Larry Flint again.

@meghanncuniff I’m actually shocked that that one cop wouldn’t answer directly about whether his wife slept with Afroman or not. Is this something that actually happened?!?!

@drinkndrive696 @memeticsisyphus Europeans get inundated with US media from birth. We know our way around NYC and LA from videogames and movies alone. You on the other hand couldn't even point to Berlin, Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam on a map, and are somehow under the impression it is 90% Muslim.

@runawaybit @zeta_globin Yeah! It’s called imprinting. When cells divide to make sperm/egg the DNA is “decorated” in a specific way that marks its origin. Angelman vs Prader-Willi is a cool example, deletion of the same region of dna causes wildly different diseases if it’s from mom or dad.

more people should know the fun fact that when an individual inherits only one X chromosome it's known as a turners syndrome and if they only inherit their dad's x chromosome they're behaviorally and intellectually way more normal than if it's just the mother's x chromosome

Was able to hear directly from people with coprolalia. They’ve informed me people with that condition are typically hyper-apologetic. They agree that an apology, not for the disorder, but for the impact of the word, is warranted. Happy to be educated on this.

I’m not a Tourette’s expert, but does that condition prevent someone from apologizing?
