Have we been taking John Turturro for granted? He’s a ubiquitous face, showing up regularly in all sorts of supporting parts, but he so rarely gets the chance to carry a feature. “In ‘The Only Living Pickpocket in New York,’ which world premiered at Sundance and is now playing at the Berlin Film Festival, he does exactly that, holding our attention with those sad, watchful eyes and his lanky determination,” film critic Bilge Ebiri writes. It’s the kind of part that’s been a long time coming, which makes sense, because this modest, lovely drama is itself in communion with the past. It’s a gentle evocation of a kind of New York aesthetic that we don’t see much of anymore. Read Ebiri’s full review of the film: nymag.visitlink.me/Znqscc

The song Mack The Knife becomes much less interesting when you realise it's about a guy with a weird nickname rather than some kind of nightmarish sentient cutlery.

@johnyorke123 On reflection - I’m sure you did. I think I was expecting you to refer to Brody as the antagonist. It kind of makes sense for them both - but I’m not sure Brody can be described as being “ in charge” to be fair. “Clinging on” perhaps…

@johnyorke123 Hi - I’ve started Trip to the Moon - great book so far - on page 52 re Jaws - you say Quint appears to be rejected and in the mirror bookend - appears to be in charge. Do you mean Brody? It’s kinda true for both of them, I guess…

@ItsAndyRyan I like the “full of” sign behind you. I hope you’ve had a good day. You are starting to look like Olyphant in Alien Earth - a blessing and a curse! Best.

@ChrisGiles_ @BBCNews Do the BoE use the same model/s? If not - does it make sense for the forecasting by the OBR to be done on a different basis than the BoE (when they are both independent?)

Here is a classic example of @BBCNews not understanding multiplier effects - they always are "temporary" in the OBR's assessment. It's the way the OBR's model works and if you write about it - you should know that BBC
