🚨Breaking news 🗞️ 🗞️
The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali 🇲🇱 to help the military-led government battle insurgents as West Africa's al Qaeda affiliate claimed to have seized more territory.
Mali's military rulers are trying to reassert control after coordinated weekend attacks by al Qaeda-linked insurgents and a coalition of mostly Tuareg separatists killed the country's defence minister and forced Russian contractors to withdraw from a strategic town.

🇲🇱 To anyone from a nation that has spent the last week mocking Mali following the attacks of April 25th, I have a serious question: How many of your countries would have actually been able to handle an assault of this magnitude?
Mali faced a coordinated strike by 10,000 to 12,000 armed personnel equipped with:
• Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs) and drones.
• MANPADS (Man-Portable Air-Defense Systems).
• Updated satellite imagery and detailed battle plans.
• Full ammunition loads and sophisticated, coordinated communication.
How many nations, including those in Europe, would truly be capable of repelling a force that large and well-man and well equipped force.
I would like to know which countries you believe could have honestly fared any better.

@EGYOSINT Aerial refueling tankers (KC-46A and K35R) active over the region as tensions rise. These platforms enable fighter jets and bombers to stay airborne longer. No official word yet, but this is the kind of setup you see before major operations.
