Everyone focuses on the wrong reasons for why sneaker resale is tanking. The main reasons are unrelated to shoes. It’s inflation and the costs of everyday living. It’s not demand or hype, it’s the ability to buy via poor economics. Due to those factors the group of prospective buyers for “hype” shoes has fallen off a cliff. That extra $200-$500 a month people had 5-10 years ago has been gobbled up by normal expenses becoming so much more expensive in a short period of time. The data is there to prove it. Demand remains high, but people just don’t have the ability to buy pairs like this at $800-$1500 anymore.
