Anthony Volpe has made a swing change. A clear focus on line drives, no huge uppercut, and he’s taking his walks. It’s only been a few games but it’s encouraging that he’s clearly made changes to help play a game that best suits his skillset

Jazz is struggling yes but don’t let the overall numbers fool you. The Yankees being swing and miss is not just 3 guys, it is the Yankee philosophy.

The point that he always sounds like he's going for the big call is a good one. The 2026 Yankees do not make much contact, he's right about that, but analyzing it at a time when a lot of PA have gone to an awful version of Jazz, + Ryan McMahon and Spencer Jones feels a tad misguided

This game is a good example of how sequencing can really shift the result of a game. The Yankees have 9 hits, 3 walks, and 3 runs. The Mets have 7 hits, 4 walks, and 6 runs. Coming into the game, the Mets had a 90 wRC+ with runners on, and the Yankees were at 135.
