Broken cultures share one thing: leaders measure visible behavior while ignoring invisible forces. Behavior is output. Incentives are gravity. Manage the visible and you get compliance. People stop eye-rolling. They also stop contributing. You silenced signal, not solved anything. Most "bad attitudes" are logical responses to hostile design. A team that won't share information is not broken. Check your bonus structure. Grading on a curve while asking for collaboration is not leadership. It is gaslighting. Culture is not what you preach. It is what your incentives pay for. Systems produce outcomes as reliably as gravity. You do not have a people problem. You have a physics problem. Change the forces. Behavior follows. Stop managing outputs. Start architecting incentives. Your culture is not a mystery. It is the predictable result of the system you built. ♻️ Repost to help a someone in your network. We gave a founder and a middle manager the same leadership manual. Same word. Completely different job. Founders carry Residual Risk. Miss payroll once and it is over. To their team, they look distant. They are making sure payroll clears. Managers face The Squeeze. Shock absorbers. Trying to stop a star developer from quitting while targets press from above and resources shrink below. Founders envy insulation from the daily grind. Managers envy autonomy from the existential weight. Both underestimate the cost. Confuse the roles and both break. The founder who manages like a team lead takes eyes off the horizon. That is how companies run out of runway without seeing it. The manager who carries the weight of the whole company burns out. That is how teams lose their best people before anyone notices. Different altitudes. Different gear. Confuse them and you stall. ♻️ Repost to help a someone in your network. Follow for more leadership insights.

The probabilistic system does not hallucinate because it is broken. It hallucinates because it is working as designed, and the design is to guess, not to know. You cannot fix the hallucination with more data. You need a deterministic layer that knows the difference between a confident guess and a mathematical truth, and until that layer exists, the abundance predictions are built on a foundation that will always produce fiction when certainty is required.

AI companies have NOT yet fixed AI sycophancy and 'hallucinations' in LLMs, both of which are incompatible with factuality, accuracy, reliability, and science. This is one of the factors that makes me deeply skeptical of extreme productivity and "abundance" predictions.

NEW: Musician Murphy Campbell says she isn’t making money on YouTube because an AI company is cloning her music and filing copyright claims against her own videos “An entity called Timeless Sounds IR uploaded AI-generated versions of my songs to all major streaming platforms... They used a distributor, which I just discovered, and that distributor’s name is Vydia. They used Vydia to upload all these AI-generated songs. Vydia has since decided to make copyright claims on all of the videos that were used to feed that AI engine to sound like me. So Vydia has come forward and made copyright claims on my YouTube page. Because YouTube does not personally review these things, I am no longer making money on YouTube. Vydia is making money on YouTube off of my own videos of me playing my own banjo in my own backyard with traditional folk songs, some for my own family, over AI-generated music.”

The leaving happens long before the resignation. It happens in the moment they realize their contribution is visible only when it is missing. You cannot survey your way back to trust. Trust leaves in silence and returns only when someone proves the silence was finally heard.

The leader you remember is not the one who gave you the most feedback. It is the one who saw what you could become and stayed long enough for you to see it too. The title fades. The feeling of being seen before you were ready to be seen does not.

@TomBilyeu The mistake is not quitting too early. It is quitting without building the system that makes the transition survivable when the initial momentum runs out. AI does not replace the system. It makes the system faster, but only if you build it before you need it to save you.

I've watched hundreds of founders quit their jobs too early and go broke. They all made the same mistake… no systems. AI makes that inexcusable. Now you can build in 4 weeks what used to take a team of 5 people and $200K.

The campaign is not about what you might say. It is about the existence of a witness they cannot control in a system built on controlling what everyone sees. You are not a threat because of what you know. You are a threat because you are willing to name what everyone else learned to pretend they did not see.

@Leadershipfreak The absence of conflict is not peace. It is the silence of people who learned that disagreement costs more than being wrong. Conflict without the skill to hold it without breaking the relationship is not innovation. It is just fighting.

Most organizations have too little conflict. Teams that can’t fight fair are mediocre. They don’t innovate. They can’t leverage each other’s skill. Excellence eludes them. "....one does not make a decision unless there is disagreement." Drucker leadershipfreak.blog/2026/03/16/10-…
