The NET P&L was red last week. Transolve is making a difference. Going to double down on ASA in May.

Stopping the experiment after ~36 hours of running ads: 👉 ~$50 spent (I can't tell exactly because I guess Apple doesn't show data in realtime) 👉 199 taps, 113 installs, $0.40 CPI 🤑 ~$65 generated (7 weekly subs at $4.99, 1 yearly at $29.99) I have no precise idea of LTV/churn because I just changed the pricing model. But I can expect around $90-$100 in total (renewals, but also I expect 1-2 new subscribers in the next days) So it looks good, but after Apple's cut, taxes, etc. I'm barely profitable. I'll start running ads again next weekend though, with a higher budget. Because in the end, ads will help the app to rank organically, and the app has a good virality potential (= 1 paid download can bring more organic ones).
Alex@nomalex_

Update: in 12 hours, had in total 5 new weekly subs + 1 yearly sub for the app I'm running ASA for. ~$55 of revenue in total, churn is quite high with this app but I can expect $70 of revenue. Spending is around $25, so so far it looks very profitable. CPA is at $0.40 for the US which is extremely good (I think it was $0.70 last time I was running ads for this app). I need more, consolidated, data, but so far it looks very promising.

@kedytcom Not bad. Imagine what it’s like to have 18/18 installs. ASA can be the 8th world wonder if you know how to use it. Good luck 👏🏻

Spent $13.87 on Apple Search Ads today 📉💸 Results: • 18 taps • 8 installs • only 163 impressions 🤯 No viral post. No big budget. No Apple feature. Just: • testing ASA keywords daily • optimizing screenshots 🎨 • localizing into new markets 🌍 • adjusting bids constantly • refreshing App Store Connect every hour 😂 Most people see “8 installs”. I see: • high intent traffic • improving conversion rates 📈 • keywords gaining momentum • proof the app can scale slowly Indie app growth is small wins stacked together 🚀

An ASA campaign that paused last year suddenly showed revenue yesterday. Turns out the user had billing issues for months. 1. I hope he/she is ok. 2. I'll restore that campaign because it has the ROAS spirit in it now and I cant deny it.

@yduanx 1. Look at 30 day ratings in the US for ASO, not all time 2. Find keywords where you can compete - they’ll be small, but that’s how you build momentum 3. Make sure you ask for new ratings so those Apple Ads downloads give you more

@arielmichaeli My app has ~5k ratings in the App Store. My competitors’ ratings are 3-20x mine 🥲. It feels impossible to beat them organically. I just need to get better at it. I distribute using ASA, so I don’t really count on organic. Got any recommendations?

@yduanx That's the name of the game. How are your ratings vs competitors? That's step one in the research process.

Level Up to $10K MRR Series #1 🔥 One of the most underrated advanced metrics to optimize is Deletions / Installations ratio. This is simply deletions divided by installations. A high ratio is a strong warning sign that many users are not sticking with your app. High ratio = wasted installs + hurting your ASO. How to find it: → Go to App Store Connect → [Your App] → Analytics → Metrics → Usage → Select Deletions → Click the three dots (...) → Choose Compare → Select Installations → Choose Ratio (Deletions / Installations) 1/3

If your app isn't printing money, check these: · Hard paywall? (not freemium) · Yearly plan option? (collect cash upfront) · 3+ minute onboarding? (sunk cost bias) · AB testing pricing? (go higher than you think) · Optimizing paid ads for conversions? (not installs) · ASO optimized? (organic = free traffic) Most founders nail 2-3 of these. You need all 6 to scale profitably.

French client making €900K/year. Paid €410K in taxes last year. His plan: "Maybe move to Portugal." Portugal still taxes worldwide income. We moved him to Malta. He operates through a US LLC owned by a Panama SA that sits inside a foundation. His net worth grows inside a Swiss bank. He remits €31K. Pays €5K tax in total. From €410K to €5K. His accountant back home: "That can't be right." It is. You just need the right structure.

Ran the same experiment. The first day results looks promising. So far, I’m seeing better new trial numbers. It's still very early to assume anything, but I’ll keep you updated in the coming days as more results come in.

I decided to do an experiment and changed the famous 3 days trial for one of my apps to 7 days trial. Didn't expect much change since the app has relatively low traffic. However I was really surprised by the outcome! I don't think I'll do the same for most of my apps, but I'll definitely try it again.

I’ve been stuck around $6k revenue per week. On my main keyword I’m getting almost everything, but it hit the limit. That’s why I’m searching for new keywords, doing Apple Search Ads tests, and trying to bring some old apps back to life. If it has to grow, I have to find new ways.

Before saying ASO is dead, localize your app. Translate metadata, adapt screenshots, pick the right title and subtitle for each market. Run price localization against purchasing power parity. App Store is not just the US. Some of my apps make most of their money from India, Netherlands, Thailand. Localization is one of the most underrated levers in ASO. It works.
