@VikHasya Calling Diabetes “sugar” makes people think the problem is just eating sweets. So they cut tea sugar, avoid desserts, and feel they’ve solved it and then happily binge eat high carb food.

This had to be said. Sons and daughters concerned about their parents’ protein requirements are not villains.

I think there is now enough awareness about the importance of protein and how Indians are generally protein deficient. Most solutions in this space fall into two categories. One, whey based protein powders, often priced at a premium with added flavors. Two, high protein drinks, energy bars, and similar products. However, a big missing piece, in my view, is embedding protein into everyday food. The food people already eat, crave, and cook at home. If we can meaningfully enhance the protein content in such foods while keeping them tasty, many new protein brands can win this space. This also needs to democratize access. Products should be more affordable, not necessarily cheap, but accessible to a much larger audience. A dear friend of mine, @Manojrs008 (MTech in Industrial Biotech from NITK Surathkal), has been deeply passionate about protein from a research perspective for several years. He has explored how to enhance protein using everyday ingredients, while ensuring all essential amino acids are covered, and without compromising on taste or accessibility. He has gone through a long journey, experimenting with different protein formats, including powders, and even running some interesting B2B experiments. One key insight he arrived at is this. If taste is not solved, nothing else matters. Most current protein products are consumed by people who are conscious about nutrition, even if they do not truly enjoy the taste. But for the masses, taste is non negotiable. To address this, Manoj and his co founder Ajay have built a ready to cook and ready to bake product called Nuchin-unde. In Kannada, Nutchinunde refers to a steamed preparation typically made using lentils and other healthy ingredients. They have developed their own formulation and iterated multiple times before launching. I recently tried their Nuchin-unde, and it is quite good. The pepper and asafoetida notes come through nicely. The composition can improve a bit, but this is already meaningful progress from the team. Do give it a try. The team is deeply passionate about what they are building. They have launched the product and are actively working on go to market and product market fit. They are also looking for support, especially on the marketing side. If anyone is interested in helping or collaborating, let me know. I can connect you with Manoj for a conversation. 🙏 Link: springznutrition.in/shop

Hey I deleted my post about the Penguin book cover about Ms. Arundhati Roy. While it was about responsibility as a communicator (this is my top filter and recommendation for all artistes), the overnight comments and interpretation filled my feed with too much negativity — which I avoid always on social media. I went to focus on creating content that has a positive and purposeful impact. I think I am outdated in this woke world :-)

@neeleshmisra The art of discussing things without “cancelling” the other person is lost. It was a genuine topic of discussion and was a simple question that should have been asked by more people to be honest, but we are living in the world of trolls, rage baits and keyboard warriors.

Glad to see the responses. Indeed, there are more women auto drivers today than even a year ago. 3 years ago, there were less than 200 women drivers out of ~200,000 Auto drivers, but things are changing slowly. Several initiatives have been rolled out to bring more women into the mobility workforce - with the advent of electric autos and need for last mile access to our emerging metro network. Now there are at least 500-600 women auto drivers in action and ~2000 women have license to drive autos according to official data. One such efforts is led by @nammasarathi Namma Sarathi Trust led by Sampath, Rudramurthy both experienced auto drivers and leaders of auto unions with support from Meenakshi Ravikrishna. Namma Sarathi Trust designed a program that includes onboarding women interested in this profession, 45 days of field training and assistance to obtain DL at the RTO without middlemen and help find an auto to drive. Some of the women drivers now earn @BPACofficial @RevathyAshok @ragubengaluriga have been supporting this and some individuals and CSRs pitched in with funding for some new autos. You can help too, if this of interest. Since March 2025, 570 women and trans women from low-income communities have been trained by this Trust and obtained driving license as well. But only 170 are driving autos today as aquiring the vehicle is a challenge without CIBIL score. Even to avail the Mudra loan or private financing, down payment is needed. You can support this initiative by connecting women and transwomen interested in taking up auto driving and by contributing towards down payments to acquire loan. A small request to everyone.🙏 If you are watching our film "Theertharoopa Thandeyavarige" Please watch it only on Amazon Prime. Kind request please don’t watch or share pirated links. When you watch on Prime, we earn about ₹4 per hour of streaming. That is our main revenue source. FIY: Many assume the platform bought the film, but it’s actually pay-per-view. Your support keeps us going ❤️ #trtonprime #theertharoopathanfeyavarive #ತೀರ್ಥರೂಪತಂದೆಯವರಿಗೆ

Now that the AI Summit is over we should brace for the impact of bad regulation in India: SIM binding, govt mandated fast censorship of social media, block of Supabase, and censorship of AI content are the beginning. Our clueless IT and Telecom ministries think there's only big tech on the Internet, and use broad blunt instruments to restrict internet usage and break established structural practices. There was a time when ministries took feedback from Civil Society. I've sat in those meetings. Now they talk only to lobbyists, including law firms, who speak for their clients, often to the detriment of their competition or the detriment of the Internet. I see lobbyists on TV and writing opeds without giving disclosures, and our media enables this. Founders offload policy work to lawyers and policywonks who don't get it. Like our ministries, most of these people don't truly understand the web and the impact on how we build and use things. Like bureaucrats, all they know is law and policy. Almost none of them build and play with tech. There are some, but tech and business are largely missing from the conversation. There's lots of room for posturing, agendas, MoUs and photo ops. Very little room for understanding all sides, and hard conversations. That's how bad decisions get taken.
