@PpollingNumbers Fake stat. This data came from a mail survey by the National Association of Realtors of 6,103 people. The federal gov's National Mortgage Database is millions of datapoints. No replication. No significant age increase.

Berkshire Hathaway is quietly forming a homebuilding juggernaut It all started in 2003 when it bought manufactured + modular builder Clayton Properties In 2026, it accelerated after buying Taylor Morrison (No. 6 largest homebuilder) and McGuinn (No. 65 largest homebuilder)

Who knows that article I just read could have been AI as well. I bet most professors write test questions or even curriculum material using AI. I was in college during COVID and saw similar but different issues with people cheating online exams. Most of the time the professors would just make it more challenging knowing people would be able to use the internet.

A Brown professor gave his students a take-home midterm exam. After suspecting many cheated using AI, he made the final in-person. The orange dots are the midterm scores and the gray dots are the final scores. Looks like all but 3 cheated on the midterm.

Wealth tax explained: 1. Laura loves to cook, she risks all her life savings and opens a small restaurant: Laura‘s Kitchen 2. Laura works really hard, evenings, weekends, no vacations 3. The local community loves Laura‘s Kitchen, it’s a success, the restaurant gets larger, Laura hires 30 people from the neighborhood 4. Laura makes 1,5 Million € in profit, she pays 40% in income tax: 600,000€ 5. The left „tax the rich“ party wins the elections, and introduces a wealth tax 6. Laura‘s Kitchen gets valued by the tax authorities at 25 Million €. Laura must pay 5% wealth tax: 1,25 Million € 7. The income tax of 600,000€ plus 1,25 Million € in wealth tax is more than the 1,5 Million € Laura makes 8. Laura cannot afford to pay more taxes than she makes, she closes Laura’s Kitchen 9. Laura loses her life savings despite years of hard work, 30 people lose their jobs, the state receives zero taxes 10. The local community goes to McDonalds again 11. The local left “tax the rich“ party members blame „capitalism“ for that on social media 12. Everyone gets poorer due to higher unemployment and lower tax revenues Why is this so difficult for the left to understand?

Chicago’s most effective jobs program isn’t run by its local government. It's happening through grassroots neighborhood block clubs. Fortunately, the 34 neighborhoods with the highest unemployment rates in Chicago are exclusively on the South and West sides. Low-income Chicagoans face two main barriers to finding gainful work: Criminal records and a lack of transportation. City Hall has repeatedly failed to fix this, but block clubs are actively working to solve it as we speak. It works like this: >Block club leaders personally vouch for residents, convincing employers to hire people despite criminal backgrounds. >Leaders are buying vans and organizing daily carpools to transport workers to suburban warehouses. >They are paying local youth to clean alleys and maintain community gardens, teaching job skills and neighborhood pride. The problem? Chicago policies stand in the way. Strict occupational licensing and convoluted vacant lot permitting are choking out these localized, free-market solutions. Cut the red tape.
