ALL learners receive Tier 1 learning. It's where we make all the needed improvement. If scores are dropping, if misbehaviors are increasing, if gaps are widening, if Tier 2 & 3 population is growing, then it's a Tier 1 learning issue. We must acknowledge, accept, & act on this

@Mathgarden In 4th grade we teach equivalence, simplifying, add/subtract mixed number with regrouping, improper to mixed, and ordering. The kids can understand the process but lack strong command of multiplication to successfully apply. We review multiplication strategies daily.

One of the biggest problems in math education is the over-teaching of fractions and teaching them early. It's just a number on a number line. Why why why do we leave the world of whole numbers(number theory) to give a kids a "degree" in fractions in elementary with stress.
