@NoTime2Heel @BanterV2Mfrs @AaronBastani They did decriminalise drugs. Forcing people into rehab instead of prison is decriminalisation. The Greens have said they will take an evidence based approach on what’s worked and would start with the least harmful drugs. So I don’t see how we’d end up like Oregon.

Since Zack is trying to hypnotise us into forgetting he was a Lib Dem, let’s remind him that he was: ✂️ Proud of austerity 🎓 Proud of tuition fees 🛏️ Proud of the Bedroom Tax

What's interesting are the hands. One remains completely open and makes no attempt to resist or defend their head from the kicks, the other has such a grip on the knife that takes two grown men to pry it away. Very likely the taser locked his muscles up.

Having watched this back a few times today now the initial shock is over, it's clear the Met are extremely sensitive to even the suggestion of excessive force being used, because they know how bad this footage is going to look when properly scrutinised.

We must stand with @ZackPolanski at this critical moment. The Establishment and their minions are telling us to reject the evidence of our eyes and ears.

As this video starts there is an officer clearly positioned over him. Between the first second he reaches down to control the arm that contains the knife. Despite him being tasered, he pulls this arm away from the officer and places it under his chest. Clearly attempting to conceal and keep hold of the knife. Then officers now need to use violence to get him to relinquish it. As the taser has not effectively rendered him incapacitated. Thats when they kick him. They deserve a medal not vilification.
Owen Jones@owenjonesjourno

I'd like an expert to explain this to me. This is a dangerous would-be murderer with a knife who needed to be apprehended. He's been tasered, but still has the knife. He's repeatedly kicked in the head. I'd just like that explained.

Very strange intervention towards a major national party leader a week before an election. No offer to even engage. The police are answerable to civilian politicians. Sometimes those politicians will be right, sometimes wrong, but they’re part of our democratic system.

“Apprehending violent and dangerous criminals is a full contact and messy task which may appear shocking to observers with little experience of policing in the real world.” Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley writes to Zack Polanski.

@mdinca08 I’ve been a real psychiatrist at Harvard Medical School for over 30 years… if that counts. Did you think this post implies to not use these treatments? I’m just pointing out a risk of the treatment, similar to the risk most often highlighted with the ketogenic diet.

Evidence-based treatments for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder often lead to increases in LDL cholesterol. We offer them to millions of patients anyway.

The Metropolitan Police denouncing a party leader a week before elections - over a retweet. This is outrageous. Forget what you think about the retweet. If you accept this sort of police interference in our democracy, you legitimise a deeply disturbing precedent.

@PandaCzarna @SaulStaniforth @AaronBastani Rahman was never found guilty of breaking any law. His ban was decided by an election court which has a lower evidential threshold. Some have suggested his ban was driven by racism and political motives. You should read up on the case if you are interested.

Wes Streeting has called Tower Hamlets "a rotten borough" @AaronBastani goes through some of the things Lutfur Rahman has achieved - thousands of new council houses, the EMA, university bursaries, youth centres, universal free school meals. You can see why Wes doesn't like it!

@AaronBastani @ElliotPinto1984 Possibly graffiti wise, but it really does feel like the dirtiest borough in London in terms of litter. Constantly overflowing estate bins, lowest recycling rate in the country, nos canisters as far as the eye can see

Tower Hamlets isn’t a generalisable model. It has the economic might of Canary Wharf, and other parts of borough too. But it does make you wonder. If it can do this stuff. What the hell is happening in other London boroughs?! It has low council tax too.

@AaronBastani what is your obsession with the triple lock? Considering the amount of tax corporations and the elites avoid through loop holes! Seems a little bit daft if you ask me!

@yungbean2002 @L_78991 @maxtempers not a point a agree with, but whatever its a worldview, its a political ideology. but this is example is just "this woman should move from one part of london to a fairly similar part of london because she is poor and the poor dont deserve choices, i will gain nothing from this"
