No switch to flip. While the icon and name exist, the engram wasn’t ever actually built.
Issue: Many weapons that offered those ornaments were not being reprised at the time. This was shelved early. By the time we got closer to launch and knew the exact weapon slate, was too late to spin it back up.
Sorry for the miss here. Know many want these. Just isn’t in the cards now.

There may be moments where we break glass for highest priority issues (game crashes).
There will indeed still be downtimes for general server maintenance/upkeep.
If we have the opportunity, a small fix could sneak in here or there.

So, we've been seeing some interesting videos where Guardians are doing near infinite damage to bosses thanks in part to unintended Artifact perk stacking. Quite hilarious to watch, to be honest!
While we're planning a fix (next week likely), we think this is a bit fun. Go ahead. Get out there, beat up on Atheon. Destroy some bosses. Do your thing.
Just to note: we will be disabling Artifacts in Crucible/Gambit to protect Guardians from being on the receiving end of this.
We tried to come up with a name. The Artifactening? Sure. Why not. If you have a better suggestion... throw it our way.
