@Reil76 I didn’t say or bring up that part because that’s ludicrous lol. I agree, the industry is important but no income tax seems like a stretch. I was just more so in agreement with your original post and still tried to highlight the importance of a derrick, for all of Canada 🇨🇦

Alberta separatists claim oil is the key to independence and they’re not gonna pay income tax. Wellllll
Alberta made $22B from oil & gas royalties last year. Sounds like the industry is carrying the whole province, right? Here’s what they don’t tell you.
Income taxes brought in $24.2B. Regular Albertans and businesses quietly out-contributed the oilpatch.
And oil isn’t stable. In 2015 when prices tanked, resource revenue collapsed to $2.8B. The province ran deficits almost every year from 2008 to 2022. Next year, with oil forecast lower, resource revenue is projected to drop to $13.2B while income tax stays steady near $24B.
So when someone tells you we can’t afford to question the oil industry, or that pipelines and royalty breaks are non-negotiable because oil funds everything, ask them this:
Why does a province sitting on one of the world’s largest energy reserves keep going broke every time the price of a barrel moves?
The industry is important. Nobody’s denying that. But it’s a volatile. Alberta has been using boom revenues to avoid hard conversations instead of building something durable.

Mark Carney has been Prime Minister for a year. He promised to build at “speeds not seen in generations.”
And today? Still no pipeline. Still no projects of "national interest."
Get this Liberal government out of the way and green-light projects now.

Mark Carney promised to build at speeds not seen in generations, a year into his term and it’s been nothing but illusions and photo ops.

This guy just explained Liberals vs Conservatives like we’re five…
and it’s brutal because it’s dead accurate.
Red team (Liberals): “We wanna spend like drunken sailors but we’re gonna keep all that oil, gas, and natural resources in the ground like it’s radioactive waste.” So how do they pay for it? Easy — they just take it straight from your pocket with endless taxes and fake “green” fees.
Blue team (Conservatives): “Let’s actually use the resources God gave Canada, create real wealth, and let YOU keep more of your own damn money instead of treating taxpayers like an ATM.”
One side wants to punish you for working and living.
The other side wants Canada to actually prosper.
Pretty simple when you stop listening to the propaganda and just watch what they do.
Vote blue. Keep your money. Develop our resources. End the Liberal wealth transfer.
Canada deserves better than poverty disguised as virtue.

Canada Post just got another $673 million from Ottawa to stay alive through next March.
Last year it was $1.03 billion. Gone by February. Then another billion when that wasn’t enough. Now $673 million more, and experts are already saying it probably won’t cover the full year.
The corporation lost $1.57 billion in 2025 alone. A business professor at Carleton said it out loud this week: Canada Post is insolvent.
I get that rural mail delivery is a real issue. I get that not everyone has an Amazon warehouse an hour away. Those are legitimate concerns worth solving. But we are not solving them. We are just writing cheques and hoping something changes.
At some point you have to ask whether the answer is to keep funding a corporation that has burned through multiple billions in back to back years, or to actually redesign how last mile delivery works in this country. Open it up. Restructure it. Do something different.
Because what we’re doing now isn’t working!!

Today Prime Minister @MarkJCarney and I made significant progress towards reaching an agreement on a west coast pipeline and carbon pricing that will protect Alberta ratepayers and businesses, and result in hundreds of billions of new investment in the Alberta and Canadian economies.
Although there is still some work left to be done to get to the finish line and ensure the interests of Albertans and our industries are properly protected, I am now much more confident this will be completed well before Alberta’s west coast pipeline submission to the Major Projects Office next month.
Stay tuned Alberta :)

Once again, the NHL Draft Lottery doesn’t go #Flames way.
BUT…the last time had the sixth-overall pick, they took Matthew Tkachuk, so here’s hoping!
Pat Steinberg@Fan960Steinberg
With Toronto and San Jose winning the two NHL Draft Lottery draws, Calgary's position is set. #Flames will select sixth overall at the 2026 NHL Draft.

If anyone doesn’t know why Chayka is disliked btw

World Hockey Report@worldhockeyrpt
Steve Simmons goes at Keith Pelley for hiring John Chayka. This was something.

Sources: Prior to Sunday, the #NHL looked into a tampering concern raised as new Maple Leafs GM John Chayka began to hire his staff.
The claim was unsubstantiated but underlined the suspicion some counterparts have for Chayka as he resurfaces.
