After an incredible twelve years with @PHCA_Cares, I'm excited to announce the next chapter of my career. I've joined @SaberHCG as their first-ever Chief of Government Affairs, where I'll oversee #advocacy and #lobbying efforts in six states, as well as in Washington, D.C.

For the six states in which @SaberHCG operates, that's more than $115 million(!) that could be distributed to LTC providers for #workforce recruitment, retention, and #quality initiatives. It's time that we stand up and demand action. @mcknightsltcn @KimMarselas

But here's the problem: more than $485 million in CMPs have been blatantly withheld from providers, with hundreds of millions of dollars just sitting in state accounts across the country.

Civil Monetary Penalties - or CMPs - are collected by @CMSGov from non-compliant nursing homes and then returned to the states, which can then allot those funds to providers that are pursuing a variety of improvement initiatives. mcknights.com/news/sitting-o…

For years, we've called on @CMSGov to reform the Special Focus Facility (SFF) program for #nursinghomes throughout the country, as both the qualifications and improvement metrics leave a lot to be desired. Here's hoping we can help reshape this policy moving forward. @SaberHCG

Here at @SaberHCG, we’re waiting on millions of dollars - yes, millions - to be paid for care we’ve already provided to our vulnerable residents. That’s funding that should go to our #workforce or towards #quality care. Instead, it’s sitting in a state account.
