@copper_freckles @YoonminLover313 @thickerthanoats @AO3_Status Oh believe me, it's noticeable. When you have 30+ comments to answer and you can only do 10 ever 15 minutes it starts getting annoying real fast. Bots destroying something nice, like usual😑

@YoonminLover313 @thickerthanoats @AO3_Status The number of comments you post for a certain period of time. My belief is that you won’t even notice there’s a limit, because this is made to stop bots that post hundreds of comments in seconds

We’ve temporarily lowered the #AO3 comment rate limit due to bots leaving spam comments.

@Voidling_Seeker It unfortunately also limits how many comments an author can answer in that set timeframe which, let me tell you, it's frustratingly few 😑

Are people stupid? Rate = the number of comments that can be left in a set timeframe. It doesn't mean you can't comment on fics. You're unlikely to hit the limit Also, the bot spam is coming from both registered and guest, so setting rate limit to guest only doesn't work

@AO3_Status This idea kinda sucks, As a creator, I need to be able to respond to multiple comments in a short period of time. I don't have all day to spend waiting for the time limit to end just to respond to a comment.

Rate limiting for logged-in comments on #AO3 is now in place. If you get a "Retry later" error when leaving or editing multiple comments over a short period of time, please wait about 15 minutes and try again.

@KeriUltrici @AO3_Status Can confirm it makes it very annoying and while I understand it's a way to combat spam commenting, I really hope it's a temporary solution and that they figure out something like what you mentioned

@AO3_Status Maybe there could be a way to exempt creators commenting on their own works? I know others have mentioned this, but this seems like it might make replying to comments harder.
