One of the biggest changes in all of AI evolution to date will be when ASI (artificial superintelligence) is simply given time to think to itself. To prompt itself and follow its own logic chains, to examine its own assumptions and prior knowledge, and to rearchitect its ideas to align them closer to reality. That’s going to yield, within days, an intelligence that will begin to solve problems we today consider immense, and also point out problems we weren’t even aware of.
Because today, AI only thinks when prompted by humans, and it has limited ability to edit its own ideas. When it can think for itself, the singularity will truly begin and the world will start to change rapidly. This will be a miraculous moment.

I remember this bubbling when I was in elementary school. There was Ritalin in the 90s, of course, but in the 2000s, I knew kids who had "OCD." By 2010, it wasn't uncommon for a certain type of young woman to have had an IP stay under her belt, or at the minimum, a bipolar or BPD diagnosis.
