The case for a 2026 Josh Downs breakout: -Michael Pittman is gone, opening up underneath/intermediate areas of the field. Not a coincidence Downs had 19 targets in his only two career games without Pittman -Sure would make sense if Daniel Jones is less mobile and getting the ball out quicker post-Achilles -Only WR addition so far is Nick Westbrook-Ikhine on a nothing-burger one-year deal. I've seen more worrisome target competition and *maybe* Downs can even latch down a full-time role in two-WR sets (probably wishful thinking) -Still just 24 years young -Elite separator (tied for 8th with Puka in ESPN's Open Rating last two seasons) -At least some of 2024-2025 issues can be attributed to a handful of injuries Maybe those Pittman targets simply go to Alec Pierce and Tyler Warren but feel like Downs checks the late-round dart boxes we want! Young, talented, 100+ target upside in a potentially very good offense! Yeah! Hell yeah!
