I told myself I wouldn’t get sucked into a new crypto project this bear cycle.
I have had tunnel vision lately for $TAO AND $HYPE only.
But I spent an hour today on a conf call with the founders of a new project that is blowing my mind.
It hits every major narrative, and if they are successful, by this September they will have solved the following:
- Privacy - including a privacy focused digital ID that is anti-social credit system, anti-govt intrusion, and protects your personal info from all of the above, and gives you back sovereignty of your own data.
- Interoperability bw blockchains and traditional networks, including a wallet that allows you to buy any crypto asset on any blockchain in seconds. Total interoperability bw chains.
- one of the fastest L1’s ever created. Transactions halving in milliseconds.
- quantum resistant encryption.
- much of it powered by AI agents.
- offering decentralized AI infrastructure like compute and cloud storage to users.
The token has not launched yet but the founders and the devs have been building this for several years now. Launch coming soon.
I’m still researching. But I’m blown away so far. When I asked if what they are building beats $ZEC their direct response was that what they have built makes ZEC look like garbage in comparison.
When I’m fully done researching this and the token, I will reveal what it is if I choose to buy. And if I choose to buy, I’ll be buying in size.

"Hello @everyone in the Bittensor family.
Public service announcement: Starting next week we will be introducing an interim measure to block emissions on Bittensor subnets which are engaging in active foul play and or with no clear path to adding value into the Bittensor ecosystem.
This will need to be done on a case-by-case basis, however the criteria for blocked emissions will revolve around the following:
1) Long-term burning of 100% miner emissions with no plan from the team to bring them online.
2) Active self-mining i.e. subnets that do not have code and instead use stake weight to pass emissions to their own keys.
3) Dead or fully abandoned subnets, or those that have not announced themselves i.e. "unclaimed" subnets.
4) Subnets engaged in TaoFlow exploitation, such as 104, which have very little to no chain activity from the network at large. A chain operation to block emission will be available on Tuesday to carry this out. Note this not a long term solution, as further protocol upgrades such as conviction, shorting, and the eventual full decentralized governance system of Bittensor will be coming into play this year -- these methods will allow much more organic and swarm based intelligence to organize Bittensor's emission vector.
In the near term, I believe that there is broad support and consensus for this activity as it will drive more value towards subnets on Bittensor (you know who you are) that are pushing forward a decentralized vision for artificial intelligence.

>subnets that are older should have liquidity (emissions) that they've gotten over time to defend their "conviction"
>if someone locks 10% of the supply, it takes 2 months for the conviction to mature (giving you plenty of time)
>if people on the subnet decide not to lock their stake to try to take it over, they don't need to worry about it

I’m going to shoot my shot here and call it now: there is some kind of an integration that has happened or is about to happen between the TAO.com wallet and Phantom wallet for Solana. Which will allow millions of investors and traders from the Solana ecosystem to buy TAO and individual subnet tokens directly from the phantom wallet.

Adding to the institutional case: @opentensor is doubling protocol-level subnet capacity from 128 to 256, opening up 128 new slots for AI builders to launch on $TAO.
Subnet emissions are how $TAO is distributed, so more subnets means more onchain AI projects competing for revenue and network share. With Chutes already producing real inference revenue, the supply-side expansion is being met with verifiable demand-side traction.

I sincerely hope smaller holders managed to limit the damage, because the drop doesn’t seem to be over. And this doesn’t apply to just one case, other subnets are also suffering from a real lack of communication. Ridges, for example, is losing trust a little more each day. Let this be a lesson for every team: you can deliver the best product, but you never really know what’s happening behind the scenes. When something shines too brightly, it’s often a red flag. I hope for the holders’ sake that this project will rebound, but I fear a massive whale exodus that could trigger a snowball effect.Stay vigilant. Sometimes it’s better to cut off a hand than lose an arm.

In reality what happens is you give a way for malicious owners to expedite dereg, low ADR subnets with majority of supply being controlled by owner makes it also attractive to still abuse taoflow and squeeze whoever tries to short it
Not to mention investors will get downside as the protocol borrows out the v2 pool liquidity
