Let Easter give us hope of a better Nigeria ahead. As we commemorate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, even amid difficult times, we encourage you to remain steadfast in hope. Indeed, “Good Friday must come before Easter Sunday,” and our present challenges must not define our future. We understand the heavy burden many families are carrying as a result of economic hardship. As we share in your struggles, we urge you not to lose heart. These difficult moments are temporary trials—our collective “cross”—that can lead to renewal if we remain resilient and committed to the common good. Our nation continues to face serious challenges, especially in governance and the impact it has on the daily lives of citizens. Yet, Easter reminds us that after sacrifice comes renewal, and after darkness comes light. A better Nigeria is possible when we, together, choose accountability, compassion, and responsible leadership. We remain hopeful that, through God’s grace and the determination of our people, the journey ahead will lead to a brighter future. Though the road may be rough, we believe in a Nigeria that works for everyone. May this Easter renew our faith, strengthen our resolve, and inspire us to work together for a just and prosperous nation. Happy Easter. -PO

Tinubu in Jos Confirms ‘Don't Vote for Me’ Prediction on Power Supply During the 2023 campaign, President Tinubu made a clear electoral promise: “If I don’t give you constant electricity in four years, don’t vote for me for a second term.” When he took office in 2023, Nigeria had a power supply of over 4,000 megawatts and lower tariffs. Today, the electricity power supply is less than 4,000 megawatts on the average, and Nigerians are paying higher tariffs. Nigeria currently has the lowest per capita electricity consumption in the world, with a rate below 30% of the African average. Africa’s average is 617kwh, Nigeria’s is 144 kWh. This means that Nigerians consume least electricity than other Africans. In a glaring display of disregard for promises and a lack of trust, President Tinubu, during a brief airport stopover to visit grieving families of the Jos attack on Thursday, April 2, 2026, stated that one of the reasons for his 10-minute stay was that the airport had no electricity. “You have no light here I fly out in ten minutes” At a time when Nigerians are enduring days without power, our leaders cannot even stay a few minutes without it. Now is the time to stop incompetent leaders—those lacking the capacity and compassion—who prioritise their own comfort over the well-being of the people and make empty promises. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Last night I watched a documentary about the US Moon missions. Thousands of engineers, scientists, mathematicians and entire universities working on one impossible goal of putting humans on the Moon. The level of ambition was almost frightening. Then I opened Nigerian news this morning. And it was the same depressing circus: Politicians defecting again. ADC de-recognized. Jos massacre. Another ethnic argument on TV. Every day is just noise. 220 million people… and our biggest national obsession is still politics and tribe. No moonshot. No grand scientific challenge. No national engineering ambition. Just endless distraction. Did Nigerians themselves lose the hunger for greatness? Because great nations argue about how to build the future. We argue about who insulted who yesterday. And that difference is why some countries are planning missions to the Moon… while others are still trapped in yesterday’s arguments.

Igbos in diaspora are making us proud. Somewhere in the UK, the sound of Igbo rhythm is calling people home, step by step, beat by beat. Like our parents would say, "ukwu ruo gi ala". Igbo Amaka ❤️

This is what the skill revolution and reinvention of Igbo Apprenticeship (Igba Boi) will look like in the South East. Firstly, in the first month of their cohort, everyone gets a core foundation of basic skills in bricklaying, welding, plumbing, carpentry, auto mechanics, electricals, HVAC, tiling and POP. Also, we will teach them precision and quality as a core. This is where we have lacked a lot as a people. Then they are then assigned to selected industries according to their preferred proficiency. They engage in 3 weeks practicals (In the companies) and one week theoretical (in class trainings). The in class trainings will then include other areas like accounting, marketing, organizational setup, structuring a business etc. A final exam will be written after the program which we will give them a certificate. The program may last between 6 months to 12 months. They will also be paid while they learn and after the program they get “settled” with N5 million each, which they can use to start their own business. What do you think?

We have gotten several reports of an unfair discrimination from some private school owners in the South East which has to stop. 2027 South East Maths Olympiad is open for every child to participate not some so called selected few that represent the schools in external competitions. Give every child a chance to compete. Parents ensure that your child(ren) participate to enable them gain mastery in Mathematics. Beyond the competition, the LMS we created is so packed that children will become so good in maths and gain mastery. No children will be left behind in the region.

EID AL-FITR FELLOW CITIZENS   Every Eid, I stand, and I look around… and I remember: some who were here last year are not here today. And some of us here now may not see the next one.   That truth is not to scare you. It is to wake you up.   You fasted. You prayed. You showed discipline. Beautiful. May Allah accept it. But listen, faith is not complete if it ends on the prayer mat.   What are you doing with the life Allah has given you?   Are you speaking when injustice is happening? Are you standing when it is easier to sit? Are you choosing courage over comfort?   Because عبادات without impact is not enough.   Celebrate, yes. Be joyful, yes. But carry this Eid beyond today. Let it show in how you fight for what is right, how you defend the weak, how you refuse to be silent in the face of oppression.   I refuse to give up on Nigeria. And you should not either.   Let your life be your sadaqatul jariya. Let your voice matter. Let your existence count. May Allah accept our ibadah.   EID AL-FILTR 🌙   Aisha Yesufu

2026: The Collapse Continues In January 2025, we witnessed the first grid collapse of that year, which was followed by several other collapses. Now in January, 2026 the national shame has commenced with yesterday's collapse. It is utterly disappointing that for three consecutive years—from 2023 to 2025—our nation has been ranked as having the least access to electricity globally, with nearly 100 million citizens left without power. When we compare our situation to other African nations, the disparity is stark. South Africa, with its population of about 64 million, generates and distributes over 40,000 megawatts. Egypt, with about 115 million population, also generates over 40,000 megawatts. Algeria, with around 48 million population, generates and distributes over 50,000 megawatts. Meanwhile, Nigeria, the giant of Africa and its most populous nation with over 240 million people, produces a mere 5,000 megawatts—an absurdly low figure that severely hampers our productivity. This power crisis is a direct result of continuous leadership failures. The power sector is critical and requires competent and committed leadership to thrive. As we look towards 2027, Nigeria must prioritise competence and empathy in its leadership. It is time to elect individuals with the capacity and dedication necessary to initiate a significant turnaround for our nation. Anything less is unacceptable. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO
