@Koover88 @Ma1973sk @LukeGromen Apologies. I’ll pull back. Been reading a lot of nonsense from so-called experts that don’t seem to understand fundamental problems with their positions.

@zsteve7 @Ma1973sk @LukeGromen I agree, I was just pointing out even under the assumption we could provide the oil we don't have the global infrastructure to make it work.

.@LukeGromen If it's true that a large portion of oil previously dependent on Hormuz transit, is now being bought via US Gulf, does that change your analysis? Is it possible that Iran's one trump card may have been trumped?

@Koover88 @Ma1973sk @LukeGromen That still wouldn’t address the issue of the US being a net importer. We consume 20-21 mln bbl. We export 3.5-5 with the higher end being toward max capacity currently. If the logistics/infrastructure were in place estimates say 10 mln is possible. Years away from that though.

@Ma1973sk @LukeGromen Not unless you can suddenly create twice as many tankers...the travel distance from the US to Asia takes nearly twice as long as the Middle East to Asia.

@King5897E64209 @profstonge Not to mention their infrastructure is so poor it’ll take several years to bring them online with any real production. They’ve just hit 1 million bbl a day (thanks to Chevron) and they anticipate with max ramp up only being able to hit a ~400k bbl more. Hormuz resp for 20 mln

@RemoteNavigator @gibby_joe52901 My view is because funds pushed algos to pump so they could rug it this week and make another 5-10% on the way down. Looking at the charts, it seems they know the can’t push too high with all the uncertainty so there content to rinse and repeat until real fallout.

No agreement between the US and Iran was reached during the negotiations in Pakistan. I am already seeing people saying this will lead to a bloody red day for the markets on Monday. Why? Who is surprised by this? The fact they got in a same room is massive, but based on what the US and Iran said leading into these negotiations and their contrasting views, especially on the Straight of Hormuz, a deal was highly unlikely and most of the coverage I have seen in the past few days shared this sentiment. No deal was the base case, or it should have been. A deal would have been great for the region, the world, and the markets. But it was always unlikely. Still a massive step in the right direction.

@0xKingAlex @benjamincowen You’re still in the middle of storm. It hasn’t played out yet, but it’s coming. Q4 into Q1 ‘27 most likely. The pundits will prescribe “this date backs to Biden” and you’ll swallow it down like the rest of the lemmings and take the rage bait.

@benjamincowen You idiots do this every time. Soleimani was “WW3,” NATO pressure was “useless,” tariffs were “economic suicide,” Middle East peace was “impossible.” Then none of that played out. At some point it stops being criticism and starts being a dumbass pattern.

Funny how “TDS” gets thrown around at anyone who criticizes Trump. If anything, the real TDS is pretending he’s incapable of being wrong and defending every statement, no matter how erratic, contradictory, or self-serving it is.

@BJK1B2K @benjamincowen Except he’s doing the exact opposite by rolling back regulation on pesticides, PFAs, etc. Try harder to avoid walking straight into a buzzsaw. And I am not one of those people. Everything gets examined using logic and reason. If it fails the test it’s trash and gets thrown out.

@benjamincowen Dude could cure cancer and it would be the wrong way, not fast enough, and he spent too much money doing it, named it wrong, and the undertones of the name are racist, sexist. No matter what half the people just hate him so much they can’t think clearly or rationally towards him.

@benjamincowen It’s the same mindless defense tactic they’ve used to make Kool-Aid drinkers think the word socialist means communist and liberal means evil. It’s brainwashing akin to the scene in Clockwork Orange. They strap in, get their eyes retracted open, and turn on Fox News.

@jackprandelli He literally ripped Rory’s post word for word. Also, @HealthRanger is correct. It’s just window dressing. When we consume 20 million bbl a day and produce just over 13 million bbl we can’t meet our own demand. Make it make sense.

Trump just posted it. The map proves it. Empty supertankers VLCCs, 2 million barrels each are racing to the US Gulf Coast right now. Hormuz is broken. The world needs oil. And they're all heading one direction. 🗺️ Look at that map: Atlantic, Indian Ocean, rounding Africa all vectoring toward the US Gulf. This is what market rerouting looks like 🚢 Each VLCC = ~2 million barrels capacity ⛽ Hormuz blocked = Middle East supply frozen 🇺🇸 US Gulf Coast = the new global filling station 📦 426 tankers stuck in the Gulf replacements coming from America Trump called it "the sweetest oil anywhere in the World." Geopolitically? He's not wrong about the timing. The US just became the world's emergency oil supplier. No tolls. No sanctions risk. No Bitcoin fees. Just VLCCs, loading up and shipping out. image source: @Rory_Johnston

@AvrgJoeCrypto @benjamincowen The unknown which we lump into ‘meta’ won’t remain unknown forever. Once AI/quantum computing come online at full scale we’ll make a huge jump.

Is it? Or is it an equal combination of physics and metaphysics? We can't measure and observe everything. Almost everything we think we know has begun in theory. What we continue to learn will change what we thought we knew, and I can't trust official narratives telling me things are exactly so 🤷 I apologize for my trust issues 😔

@DarboJr3 @benjamincowen There’s logical disagreement (e.g., string theory vs relativity) and then there’s people who don’t understand basic concepts like scientific method that choose to weigh in with flat earth takes. These are not serious people.

@JadeCole2112 @StealthQE4 This is a weak troll job. The space program was basically shelved for a decade. SpaceX ramped it back up. And no, we weren’t supposed to get to Mars years ago. It’s never been seriously approached until Musk put it at the forefront.

Artemis II would have been cool if they landed on the moon and simultaneously golfed with pros at the Masters. I love this story and glad they are safe but we landed on the moon 59 years ago. Now we just do a fly by.

@NodiusMaximus @benjamincowen @GuntherEagleman I can’t tell if you’re being intentionally vague or you just want to be contentious. Spell out your point so it can be addressed. You’re arguing there isn’t conclusive proof we’ve been to space because it remains theoretical?

@JadeCole2112 @StealthQE4 If you believe the future of humanity is going to remain solely on this planet then you haven’t been paying attention. There will be a Mars mission at some point and once we understand more about quantum entanglement/time dilation we’ll go farther.

Trump confirms he already has nations lined up to have naval presence in the Strait of Hormuz when we leave. Trump is miles ahead. He is just managing leverage and timing. We are just waiting on an official deal. Let’s hope the Iranians choose wisely.

@MarioNawfal It’s called plausible deniability. They use the same tactics Trump does, they just use consistency and reason. And before you say this is in defense of Iran, I’ll let you know it’s an attack on an illogical position by the current admin. We’re being governed by ‘C’ students.

🇮🇷 Iran's biggest problem at the negotiating table might be one it created itself... The NYT reports Iran can't fully reopen Hormuz because it literally cannot find all the mines it planted. The IRGC used small boats to mine the Strait haphazardly in the early days of the war. Some mines were placed without recording exact locations. Others have drifted from where they were originally set. Araghchi's reference to "technical limitations" when announcing the Strait would reopen was diplomatic language for "we mined our own waterway and can't undo it." Neither Iran nor the U.S. has robust mine-clearing capability. The U.S. relies on a handful of littoral combat ships for the job. Iran doesn't have the equipment at all. Removing sea mines is exponentially harder than laying them, the same asymmetry that defined the entire war applied in reverse. Trump demanded "COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and SAFE OPENING." Iran can offer partial, gradual, and uncertain. Source: NYT

🚨🇮🇷🇵🇰 Footage shows Iran's high-ranking delegation in Islamabad. After days of denials and threats to boycott, they're here. Ghalibaf, Araghchi, and the future of the Middle East just walked through the door.
