I had a friend who got pregnant, they didn't have medical aid so she had to save R60k for birth at a private hospital. She sent her husband R10k a month for 6 months. When it was time to give birth, her husband drove her to a public hospital. He said he spent all the money.

Women who have children with men and then come online complaining about how horrible they are usually saw the signs before the child. People don’t just become someone overnight. Most of the time, it was already there and got ignored because the desire for the relationship was stronger than the truth. When you decide to have a baby with a man, you are taking a risk of doing it alone. That’s something more women need to be honest about. Men who truly show up for both the woman and the child are rare. Not rare like a unicorn, but rare. And the reality is, a lot of women end up tied to men who make their lives harder instead of better. I hate that for women.
