Dennoch waren die meisten NATO-Mitglieder nicht einmal zu stillschweigender Unterstützung bereit.

Good points. It is a vast generalization, I admit that. My point was for Ms Gingrich to be aware that the government in particular is not a friend to the US in general and is very self-serving and condescending. And as I said my dealings with Swiss in the rural areas were very positive. It’s only an urban centers that I found the condescension to be prevalent.

The US leaving NATO maybe the one thing that can actually save Europe. For 80 years, the Europeans have coasted. Their defense, especially the cost, was outsourced to America. This allowed them to free up billions to spend on elaborate social welfare programs that undermined the competitive drive of their citizens. With guaranteed incomes and a safety net, there was no need to work hard for a retirement like in America. It gave them the ability to fund free advanced education programs so their sons and daughters could study things with little or no commercial potential unburdened by the need to worry about paying off education loans while also making a living. Without the US funding their defense, they will now have to spend a hell of a lot more than the meager 5% of GDP that Trump requested for NATO funding. In addition, they won’t have America around to step in when disagreements between European nations run the risk of turning into wars. Good luck Europe. You’re gonna need it.

The US is there for them EVERY time they call... Every time Putin sneezes too loud and they get scared we are there.
We are the primary funding source of NATO.
We are the ONLY reason Ukraine didn't fall to Russia in the first few weeks of that war.
And yet when we need to use their AIRSPACE to transport munitions that will be used to disarm a DERANGED AND UNHINGED regime... That proved it can REACH MAJOR EUROPEAN CITIES... They say it's not their war.
The fact that the GULF STATES have been more supportive than Europe is EMBARRASSING.
Screw Europe. They want to play these games? Cool. Next time Putin makes anything *REMOTELY* resembling a move don't come crying to the US...
