I can’t express how true this is. I had typical Christian beliefs about Israel prior to 10-7. I believed it was prophetically significant & was glad there was a democracy in the M.E. but didn’t think much else about it. I didn’t know many Jews except for some older couples and my husband’s college best friend. And then I spoke out about the 10-7 massacre. And it was like Hitler was reborn in my comment sections. I started to get horrific and violent private messages, I was called Jewish slurs daily (as a Christian), and Nazi/Holocaust meme responses became the norm. And it wasn’t just my comments – it was EVERYONE’S who mildly supported Israel. I started to watch major influencers fall one by one as if they were bitten by zombies. And then I was radicalized.

I didn’t like your assumption that if someone is “in Christ”, they share your feelings. You said we’re all sick of it here, so I wanted to speak for myself and say I don’t feel the way you feel. I think how you feel is very valid, and Paul spoke of feeling the same way. But to speak on behalf of me and others who are disciples of Jesus Christ, that operate from the leadership of the Holy Spirit, was not appropriate. I think if it said “I feel” instead of “we all feel”, it would have been received differently.

This is not how I, a woman who has spent over 3 decades of my life as a disciple of Jesus Christ, feels! I love that Jesus, in His patience and longsuffering toward us, is waiting to return so we can fulfill the Great Commission and lead as many to Him as possible! Our hearts should be His heart. So don’t grow weary in well doing; finish the race that is before you with the same fervor that you began with! Look forward to His return, but count every day on earth as an opportunity to shine His light into the darkness! Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation-as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, 2 Peter 3:14-15 I’m in Christ, and trust His perfect timing! Fair point. Actually super fair. I think I do because it’s widely normalized and “accepted” when most people don’t do the deep dive into it to actually understand what the Christian god commanded, and really said. But rather accept the common narrative that he’s “all knowing and all loving” when those statements are inherently contradictory if he did command genocide. Everyone kind of attacks Islam and Judaism, and Hinduism on their own.
