@gwowls Yeah, wait until they read the rest of Galatians where it talks about how: when Paul was called Saul, he would persecute Christians for believing in the wrong messiah because Jesus didn't teach according to the creeds of the Sanhedrin.

Today I'm officially leaving the LDS Church. I just heard for the very first time about this super niche bible verse in Galatians that actually disproves the whole religion! I'd never even heard of "the bible" before. Glad we got that figured out. Anyway, see you at mass!

44 years ago, I decided I would quit debating and find out once and for all if what my friends, teammates, and two young men in white shirts and ties had told me about the @Ch_JesusChrist was true. There is a promise given at the very end of the Book of Mormon: And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.” Moroni 10:4–5. Our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, keeps every promise. I read, prayed, asked, and listened. He answered. That decision will bless my family and me for an Eternity. – Burgess Owens, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Children in my church—The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints—know this song, “I Will Walk With Jesus” Pay attention to the words If this isn’t emblematic of Christian faith, I don’t know what is

A lot of people seem to think that this whole thing about the Department of War not classifying Mormons as Christians was a big deal about nothing, I can assure you it’s not nothing. What it was about was the participation, intentional or not, of the United States government in rhetoric meant to otherize Latter Day Saints from their fellow Americans, and there being an official document that makes it the position of that government a key line of this rhetoric; Mormons aren’t Christians. “But how does this affect the military?” Let me tell you a little story… I spent ten years enlisted in the United States Army, from 2000 to 2010. In 2007 I was reassigned to a research facility on Edgewood Arsenal, Maryland. I had just completed back to back deployments to Iraq with the 226th Med Log, and I had met a civilian girl at work and we started dating. Well word got around that not only was she dating the new soldier, but that the soldier was from Utah and was a Mormon. One day when she got back from lunch, she found her desk covered with anti Mormon literature. “What Mormons really believe” “Who was Joseph Smith?” “Eternal consequences of Mormonism” And so on. She was livid, and when she called me and told me what had happened, so was I. I had just risked my life across multiple deployments, and the thanks I got from the Christian employees in the department of defense was for them to try to convince my new girlfriend that I was demonic and that if she dated me she would go to hell. I confronted the guy who put that stuff on her desk and he was all “…I was only trying to protect her.” Protect her? From what? Your fellow Americans? From someone who wears a uniform that you never did? I told him I would be filing an EO complaint against him for what he’d done, and that’s exactly what I did. But then word got around about the complaint, and the civilian apparatus closed in on me, pressuring me to withdraw it because “he’s a good guy with a family. This will affect him long term. Come on, man, you don’t have to do this.” I hate to say it, but I did withdraw the complaint because I realized that if I went through with it, everybody I worked with would hate me. But it goes to show you that this kind of anti Mormon hate is rampant and known in the culture surrounding the United States military. So yeah, it affects members of the church in the military. There should be no official government document affirming anti Mormon rhetoric.

Thank you, President Trump, for standing up for Latter-day Saints. When we asked for your help, you responded by doing the exact opposite of what Martin Van Buren did when we asked for his help in 1839. And we are most grateful for that.

@FiredUpCoug Man, I knew Lorne Greene had white hair and seemed to be an older actor, but I had no idea that he was white-haired all the way back before 1830 and kept that silver-fox look all the way into the 1970s. What kind of skin care did he use for cryin' out loud?

I was told today by an X user that my religion is based on the plot of Battlestar Galactica. That is not accurate at all. Which is unfortunate, because I love Battlestar Galactica.

@AronKlassen @Mormonger That is the Crux of the disagreement. I say if you believe in Jesus, Repent and follow him, you are a Christian, because that is what Jesus taught. Jesus never taught jehad, so I am sure a Muslim doesn't claim to be a "Christian"; If they did, their fruits don't bear that witness

@BryanLyman @Mormonger Following Christ is not the issue at hand. Masses claim to follow Christ in one way or another but don't believe He is One with God the Father and the Holy Spirit and then proceed to bastardize historically held doctrine and the foundational Hebrew faith.

As Mormons, we must be totally honest. Creedalists do worship a Jesus Christ. It's just not the Jesus Christ revealed in the Bible. It is a Jesus Christ that was invented by councils of men and who is not like the one in the Bible. Thus, they are not Biblical Christians.

@AronKlassen @Mormonger Because Mormons don't claim to and have no authority to exclude you from the Celestial Kingdom, that is your flawed view. Jesus is Judge and advocate, you separate yourself from his presence by sinning. Jesus taught repentance and faith in him is the way to the father.

@AronKlassen @Mormonger The Catholics mean well, they actually have a more realistic claim on the apostolic authority of Peter than any other Church historically, all other Christian religions stem from them. So, if they are corrupt, you are a splinter of a corruption.

@BryanLyman @Mormonger I suppose for the same reason I am bothered by muslims claiming they follow Jesus or that there are shrines to Jesus in Hinduism or that Roman Catholicism venerates saints/the papacy. If it doesn't jive with scripture, that's a problem. IE/ adding to scripture.

@lllllllucian @Mormonger You are the one making the comparison, we don't care if you claim to be Christian, If you really follow Christ, GOOD, you are my Christian brother or sister. A "testament" is just men giving their testimony of what they saw and heard.

@AronKlassen @Mormonger We are who we are: followers of Christ. The problem comes when bigots who claim to have a monopoly on the word Christian persecute us, which we have a long history of happening; but other faiths do also. Why can't other Christians drop the subject? We are Christians. Full stop.

Romans - heirs in eternal life, not deification. Corinthians - Goody dwells in us, not deification. John - Rhetorical, calling out the religious leaders. Lower case gods, but there is one God, and this is/was fully understood and accepted in Judaism. What about the people on other planets thing? Where's that in the Bible or any Hebrew Scripture? I don't have a problem with Mormons. I do think it's unbelievably clear that Smith was a con man. But Mormons are good people. I just don't see the point in pretending it's Christianity. Just embrace what you are. More importantly, I don't personally care what the government thinks about my faith or how they categorize it. I don't care what other people think about my faith or how they categorize it. I know what I believe and I'm cool with people disagreeing with me. Just be Mormon.

@DrewKingma @Mormonger Agreed. However, if you define "blasphemy" as something against only your strict and limited understanding of God, who is Omnipotent and you aren't, and Jesus is my judge not you. Then I am gonna' stick to Mormonism as NOT blasphemous in the slightest. You've been deceived.

@Mormonger Does your religion when all pomp and circumstance is removed center around sex and getting more of it? if so, you are most likely in a cult. Multiple wives - sex Their “god” has multiple wives - projecting sex upon the creator Jesus has multiple wives - more sex projection

@ewfisher1 @Mormonger Others could just as easily define what YOU believe in as false, and that you believe in a false Christ; atheists obviously believe you are nuts. Do they get to define if you are a Christian or not? The answer is NO. Just like you don't get to define what Mormons believe.

@AronKlassen @Mormonger The other worlds thing is extra-doctrinal, not fundamental; but the Bible speaks specifically how God created all in the Earth and in the heavens. The entirety of the Universe without end. There is no end to his creations, and to say otherwise is a limitation on his Omnipotence.

@MikedAlamo @Mormonger Mormons aren't the ones redefining the term "Christian", you are. You are saying they don't fit into your Trinitarian guidelines, so they don't meet the definition. “Do not forbid him; for whoever is not against you is for you.” - Matt 24:26 Go read the whole chapter, dude.

@emit151 @Mormonger Nephi 26:12 in the Book of Mormon says this: "And as I spake concerning the convincing of the Jews, that Jesus is the very Christ, it must needs be that the Gentiles be convinced also that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God;" Sounds the same to me.

@Mormonger Jesus was the ONLY Son of God. Jesus and the Father are One. There is only One God. There is no reconciling that with the Book of Mormon. Galatians 1:8-9 is all you really need to read, though.
