@duncsand Really do t understand why they do t offer that rate for people who do t have EV’s. Why do they care what the consumed unit is used for. I have lots of customers with solar PV & Batteries that just want a fixed period of overnight cheap rate.

Hellish day in A&E. The doctors and nurses are working flat out but the constant stream of patients is just too much. When I was a kid if you went to A&E you saw people with broken arms and bloody eye patches, things cut off or sticking out of their head. Today it was just people who couldn't get a GP appointment. Why do we not have enough doctor's surgeries in this country? Is it financially unviable to run one, too expensive to become a GP, or no longer a sought after career? What the hell is going on?

From what I've seen on here, people are using their food waste bins that the government and councils are forcing us to have in the most ingenious ways. These food waste bins are now great for storing bird seed, fish food, dog food, fishing bait, small gardening tools. Government and Councils wasting our council tax just so we can have new forms of storage. 🙄

@SecretCampervan No idea what your point is. If it’s yours and you fid no research before buying then why are you complaining. For the right people like me, an electrician. My EV van is perfect. It’s like me saying I bought a Ferrari and it’s useless I can fit a roof rack for my ladders !

I can only say this electric van is shite. Pointless thing to have! Range is crap. Charging takes forever. My diesel transit (workvan) is far more economical and it’s 13 years old!

@janrosenow Ex solar PV surveyor here. I have 7.025 kWp array, an 11 kWh battery, solar thermal and a hit water heater store. I would NEVER install a Heat Pump (neither air nor ground) because I know my grid electricity usage during winter (when heat is needed) would pauper me.

Heating oil prices in the UK have trebled in a week. 2 million homes, no price cap protection, no warning. Heat pumps + solar are multiple times more efficient, don’t require an oil tank and oil deliveries and are an insurance against such frightening price spikes.

So I installed solar, battery and heat pump and also bought 3 x EVs - no bills for heating or driving anymore. What do I need to install to get rid of the council tax as it bothers me I have to pay it?

@welshdragon1979 @electrician_247 60% is significant, it can’t just be the inverter.

@electrician_247 in comparison to my mother's 8.5kw solar, 6kw givenergy all in one, my 13.5kw solar, and 8kw sigenergy is producing on avarage 60% more, cant wait to see what it's like at full capacity, 80-100kw a day maybe??????

15 inverters down not a single bad connector found as yet... ferrules, tighten, right size cable is all that was ever needed. These have all been running very very very often for many many many hours at 10kw-12kW Good as new. Feels a waste to me.

@CurrentEnSol Some places offer battery health checks on a mobile basis I think - I have the kit for this and check my stock with it, it’s not something I get someone to do for me.

An electric car battery costs about 50% of the vehicle's value. So a £40,000 car has a £20,000 battery. After just a few years the battery is worthless, and so is the vehicle. It's not worth replacing it. That's why electric cars are not selling. Fact.
