@gbrew24 @Rory_Johnston If they do keep control they'll be stronger than before. They'll show that no one can force them to open it and countries will pay the tribute to keep their cargoes going through.

ICYMI Had a great time chatting/coping with my friend @Rory_Johnston on his pod this week. Upshot: the Carter Doctrine is probably dead, Iran controls the strait, and it's going to try to keep that control going once this war wraps up. Check it out: open.spotify.com/episode/4TcGt4…

@TheRickWilson Rolling Thunder was from 65 to 68 and we had combat troops in Vietnam until 73. So is McCormick suggesting we need to keep fighting Iran for the next 8 years?

@gbrew24 If after this they have unfettered control of the Strait they won't be weaker. They'll be stronger

Iran will be weaker as a result of this war, but if it believes it can close the Strait of Hormuz without being meaningfully challenged--and if the rest of the region, and world, believe it too--the strategic gain might have made the war ultimately worth it. t.co/NxyqsnV695

If this is true (and I think it obviously isn’t) I do wonder how to explain that Trump in literally thousands of speeches and interviews has never shown the depth of knowledge and felicity with facts RFK speaks of here. Is he just nervous?

Some of the highest quality businesses in the world are trading at extremely cheap prices. Ignore the MSM. One of the most one-sided wars in history that will end well for the U.S. and the world. And we have the potential for a large peace dividend. One of the best times in a long time to buy quality. Ignore the bears.

My kid left yesterday for Iran. Before we hung up, he wanted to discuss his life insurance policy. He’s 19. It gutted me. War isn’t a joke. It’s not something C rate celebs should be making controversial statements about for attention. Shame on you @EW for running this drivel.

@conorsen They do. Look at Bibi hitting the power plant after Trump said he wouldn’t. Saudis will have influence on our decision as well.

i’ve become fascinated with auto loan delinquencies auto loans are one of the last things american workers stop paying right now over 6% of subprime borrowers are 60+ days behind on their car payments which is the highest on record since 08’ financial crisis repossessions hit ~1.7 million last year, highest since 2009 and the number is only increasing so what does it say about the economy when the last bill people stop paying is the one that’s already breaking?

@EdwardGLuce Yes, no one could foresee that a western nation attacking a middle east country would cause higher oil prices.

Desperation, thy name is Scott Bessent. "The Trump administration, which definitely carefully planned its war on Iran and thought through all the potential implications, seems to be getting increasingly worried about the completely unforeseeable rise in gas prices." ft.com/content/2b002c…
