Side note: Spurs fans should be proud. What an outstanding young team and franchise. Dylan Harper will give me nightmares. He is an absolutely stud. But very disappointing to see how Wembanyama handled last night. Walking off the court while the victorious Knicks are shaking hands with the Spurs, no props to any player after, “see you never” to the media. Wack. Easy to be the man when everyone is showering you with praise, but he showed he’s got a lot of growing up to do. He’ll likely win many in the future but that first finals impression was weak as hell. (And that was 100% another blow. Flagrant 1 call. DONT MATTER KNOW THOUGH!!!)

While he is overpaid, there's plenty of NBA teams who need ball handlers and would rather over pay than send out assets for one.

The Kings traded De’Aaron Fox for Zach LaVine, who was largely viewed as having the worst contract in the NBA at the time, just for the Spurs to give Fox a contract that will now largely be viewed as the worst contract in the NBA. Poetic.

@CollinReidPS Also, even with the fox contract coming on the books next season, the Spurs are pretty cap healthy. Plenty of avenues to improve the roster.

I think the pendulum has swung too far on the “don’t assume you’ll make it back” thing Is it a given? No Will this core have a shot every year they enter the playoffs healthy? Yes Give yourself enough shots and some will pay off. That’s where OKC went wrong by trading Harden

Future is incredibly bright in SA. Losing the finals sucks, but they are way ahead of schedule. I don't think anyone on the roster is without blame. Everyone had bad moments. They weren't ready this year, but now they have the one thing they were lacking this year. Experience!!!
