@theo Considering this occurs instantly when tabbing between I highly doubt this is caused by fans. This sounds like coil whine from the voltage regulators on the board itself. I rule out GPU cause the odds of having it with 2 entirely different cards seems slim. Hope you got it fixed
English

Been having PC issues for awhile now. Loud whine sound from my rig when booting some games. Doesn’t happen when running benchmarks.
Thought it was the GPU, so swapped from a 4090 to a 5090. Issue persists.
Thought it was PSU related (14900k + 5090 is a lot of power). Finally upgraded to a 1500w Corsair. Issue persists.
I hate computers so much. I’m never ever building one again.
I just want to play some games to relax. I’m so fucking done that I am fighting the urge to throw this $6k+ rig off of my balcony.
Is there anywhere in SF that I can drop this off, hand over $1k and get back a working PC?

@streamingdeluxe Having black characters in video games makes it automatically DEI? Please touch some grass.

@SerialPisces @LibertyCappy The problem is the system allowing even staff to be paid below minimum wage because tips may put income above minimum wage.
You cannot blame the customers for a flawed system.
Even if you do that still won't make everyone put the salary+tips => enough consistently.
English

Bad take. Servers rely off of tips. They get paid less than minimum wage and those tips make up the rest. Yes, that’s not your problem the employers should pay more. But employers already pay A LOT in payroll so that is a legal way they’ve been able to get around paying people higher wages to keep costs down as payroll is expensive. People saying to up your menu prices to reflect wages clearly know how nothing works. People aren’t going to go to a restaurant that’s extremely expensive even if that was possible be for real. I invite you to be a server, or a restaurant owner and then let’s see what take you’d have. Be glad you have never had to be in that position and instead you are eating at the restaurant and show some class. Go get in a line then, tell the chef your order, go get and make your own drinks, go get and serve your own food get your own sauces and silverware and then take your own dishes back and don’t worry about tipping. You are going to a restaurant to be served. It is part of the convenience/experience. To go to a place and have someone literally serve you and not give them any consideration is really something. You could also just go to Chipotle, or McDonald’s.

@RodFergusson I understand the thought, but these terms emerge from the gaming community and I don't think recent Diablo developments truly fulfilled the wishes of its respective community nor did it truly step up it's core mechanics which made it famous.
A certain game did exactly that.
English

@DesignGears @Gothalion I don't see that specific changelist in SteamDB, where did that go? I have to point out though. Interesting they name Eight Points, because that is a indie studio based in Yakutia, Russia. The very location Mytona was founded and the ryozombaku guy is from.
English

@thecrimsondev You know this might just have started as a joke, but I feel like a lot of us gamers aswell as devs feel so annoyed by this. We might just do it ourselves, for real. If you ever need more people to brainstorm ideas with you. I'm totally down to join this.
English

@Dexerto The hilarious thing here is that the mass will be like "oh shit" about that, but not about the massive damages to literally innocent cars and property.
People really are just waiting for any kind of crumb to talk shit about law enforcement (they not perfect, nor are we)
English

@hutchinson One thing is for certain Hutch.
People will always surprise you just how stupid they can be.
You think you seen it all until the next one-upper of idiot comes around the corner.
English

@FrappeFizzy @BrianLongFilms And now digital artists claiming that about AI is the exact same thing. People get told to use AI to make some sort of art. It's still people telling the AI to do something, like a tool.
The real question is how to handle copyright, not being scared about a new toolset.
English

@FrappeFizzy @BrianLongFilms I'm really not, I get why people are worried about AI art, don't get me wrong.
But what about painters being pushed out of work by digital artists ever since digital took over?
What about high quality camera becoming so standard that true photographers are not appreciated as much
English

And the worst part is… THE INTRO IS FUCKING DISGUSTINGGGG
Brian@BrianLongFilms
So Marvel really used AI to make the intro for #SecretInvasion… it’s actually over.
English

@FrappeFizzy @BrianLongFilms Things are bound to change and so does the way humans express themselves in an artistic way.
Artistic inspired jobs lost their glory in the past already.
At the end you can argue a digital artist taking away handcraftmandship of painters with tools that of computers
English

@BrianLongFilms I understand artists being annoyed about AI taking away "jobs" but it's not like every artist in the world makes movie intros. And you tell me how this differs between a company buying generic stock photos rather than getting an artist to make a photo just for that one case.
English

@BrianLongFilms You are a storyteller and are unable to understand why the shapeshifting generative AI fits the image of shapeshifting out of the world Skrulls that's wild.
Doesn't matter if the director doesn't understand AI.
Visually it still fits enough for him.

@aim4more_lc @pisc3spiss From that spot with a bunch of vessels the Titantic wreck would be roughly 390 nautical miles straight east.
The cable ship Deep Energy and the Vinland multi purpose are both at the titanic wreck location.
English

@Heatst0rm @pisc3spiss How far away? Had seen one possible scenario was if sub hit trouble partway down might end up carried good distance away by currents. & mothership needs to be nearly directly above for comms once sub is to x depth so may not connect even if still operable. Not likeliest, but...
English

There are now a total of 21 vessels staying around the Titanic wreck site. This means something. #OceanGate #Titanic

️️ nick@pisc3spiss
the banging sounds probably started the rescue mission immediately #OceanGate
