@Reelix @blind_via You're an idiot. At least look into that claim and understand what "closed-source proprietary hardware" is and how pathetic the take is.

@CohhCarnage I feel like its only a matter of time before advertisers get really pissed about this type of thing. I know I wouldn't want to pay a company for 10x the eyeballs my ad is actually serving.

Twitch Support@TwitchSupport

A note on our work to combat viewbotting, from CEO Dan Clancy: There’s been a lot of discussion recently about viewbotting on Twitch, and I wanted to share an update on our enforcement efforts. Viewbotting is bad for our business. We don't benefit from it, and we believe it harms the creator ecosystem overall. However, effectively combatting viewbotting is challenging. As we deploy updates to our real-time detection algorithms, viewbotting companies quickly respond with updates to avoid detection. Also, our detection systems must be precise to ensure that legitimate viewers are appropriately counted. Today, we’re introducing a new enforcement type that we plan to roll out over the next few weeks. For channels identified as persistently viewbotting, we will apply a cap to the streamer’s CCV for a fixed period of time, on all of the Twitch surfaces. The cap will be based upon historical data regarding that creator’s non-viewbotted traffic. Repeated violations will result in longer penalties. Streamers will be notified when an enforcement is applied, along with the duration of the penalty, and can appeal through the appeals portal. While streamers will be notified, we will not make a follow-on announcement when we begin issuing these enforcements, and will not publicly share details about when and where these enforcements are applied. Unfortunately, providing details simply makes it easier for companies to work around our interventions. We believe this approach will help us make meaningful progress against viewbotting. We will continue refining our systems and expand when we apply these enforcements over time. - Dan Clancy

Naturally, the “Tesla has issued a free over-the-air software update to fix the problem” part was put at the bottom of the post lol. 30 articles have been written about this new “recall” but the headlines lack the over-the-air software update context, which misleads people into believing that Teslas are more unreliable than they actually are. People don’t usually read past the headline. I still think it’s dumb to put an over-the-air software update that gets completed in the comfort of your home in the same category as a physical recall that actually requires a visit to a service center. Having a clearer distinction in the terminology would be good. Also, the fact that Tesla has to send a physical paper notice in the mail to all of those 220,000 Tesla owners notifying them of a software update that has ALREADY been installed, is stupid.
Breaking911@Breaking911

Tesla Recalls Nearly 220,000 Vehicles Over Rearview Camera Issue Tesla is recalling 218,868 vehicles due to a rearview camera defect that may delay the image when the car is placed in reverse, reducing visibility and increasing crash risk, according to a May 5 notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The recall affects select 2017 and 2021–2023 Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X vehicles running software version 2026.8.6. Tesla has issued a free over-the-air software update to fix the problem, with owner notification letters set to be mailed July 3.

@Transporter_PE You probably missed that SpaceX and Grok is all moved over to Colossus 2. Colossus 1 is what they rented out. It wasn't "no choice", it was "wtf do we do with this now?" (rent it to their competitors)

I had to get my front cameras cleaned yesterday and the cost estimate from Tesla was $77 I really disagree with charging customers who are subscribed to FSD for this service. It’s not my fault the glass is dirty, so why am I paying for it. Asking a customer to pull apart the camera housing and clean it themselves feels like a bit too much as well. Not trying to sound ungrateful at all here - but I really think this is something that should be reconsidered. @yunta_tsai @aelluswamy @Tesla_AI

Almost bought a used 100K mile Honda Civic for my 16 year-old. Instead, I opted for a preowned lease on a Tesla Model 3 with 45K miles. After taxes, the monthly payment is $200. That’s less than we’d be spending on GAS for the Civic every month. And it’s still under warranty! Maybe we’ll buy it out in a few years, maybe we’ll turn it in and lease a brand new one. Either way, the cost savings of leasing (or owning) a Tesla can’t be ignored.

Hey everyone — a quick note from the OrcaSlicer team. A few of you have asked whether we're connected to a recent legal notice from Bambu Lab. Just to clear things up: that notice went to the developer of a separate, independent fork — not to OrcaSlicer or anyone on our team. Forks are a normal and healthy part of open source, and we wish that developer the best. Thanks to everyone who pinged us about this — it means a lot that you cared enough to check. Back to slicing.
