In 1606, Sikh leader Guru Arjan was executed by Mughal emperor Jahangir and imprisoned Guru Hargobind for a long time. Aurangzeb also ordered Gurdwaras to be destroyed. Later during the reign of Aurangzeb, Guru Tegh Bahadur was executed in Delhi under Aurangzeb’s orders. Gurudwara Sis Ganj in Delhi is the place where the beheading of Sikh Guru took place.
The subsequent Sikh religious leaders, including Guru Gobind Singh, was forced to remain in a constant state of warfare owing to the intolerance of the Mughal Empire and other invading Muslim factions.
In the 1740s, Zakariya Khan, the Mughal governor of Lahore, offered lucrative rewards for the discovery and killing of Sikhs.

جو لوگ غریدہ فاروقی کے لباس کا دفاع کررہے ہیں وہ ذرہ اسلام کا موقف بھی دیکھیں مفت میں دوزخ کا ایندھن اپنے لئے نہ خریدیں اسلام میں عورت کے لباس کے بارے میں واضح ہدایات موجود ہیں، جن کا مقصد حیا، وقار اور معاشرتی پاکیزگی کو برقرار رکھنا ہے۔ قرآن کی ہدایات قرآن میں خاص طور پر دو مقامات پر عورت کے لباس کا ذکر ہے: قرآن مجید (سورۃ النور 24:31) اس آیت میں عورتوں کو ہدایت دی گئی ہے کہ وہ اپنی زینت کو ظاہر نہ کریں اور اپنے دوپٹے (اوڑھنی) کو سینے پر ڈال کر رکھیں۔ قرآن مجید (سورۃ الاحزاب 33:59) اس میں حکم دیا گیا ہے کہ عورتیں باہر نکلتے وقت اپنی چادریں (جلباب) اوڑھ لیا کریں تاکہ وہ پہچانی جائیں اور انہیں تکلیف نہ دی جائے۔ اسلامی لباس کی بنیادی شرائط اسلامی تعلیمات کے مطابق عورت کا لباس: پورے جسم کو ڈھانپنے والا ہو سوائے چہرے، ہاتھ اور بعض علماء کے نزدیک پاؤں کے۔ ڈھیلا ڈھالا ہو جسم کے خدوخال نمایاں نہ ہوں۔ باریک یا شفاف نہ ہو ایسا کپڑا نہ ہو جس سے جسم نظر آئے۔ سادہ اور باوقار ہو حد سے زیادہ نمائش یا توجہ کھینچنے والا نہ ہو۔ مردوں سے مشابہت نہ رکھتا ہو لباس میں صنفی امتیاز برقرار رہے
