@fesshole The way to get young boys reading is to give them something more meaty and less woke than ‘Jessica and the flying teapot’ to read. They mostly need action, spies, fighting and explosions etc. It worked with my son. Suggested it to friend and it got her son reading too.

Five year old has really struggled with reading and writing. So we've made a lot of effort to help him. He went to his room and wrote with pen and paper for the first time today. First line was "I hate mummy and daddy".

@mattrohde8 In good conditions it can still make a handy crop at 5 plants/m2. It looks scary early on though and you have to keep your nerve 😂

Canola sown 17th April, suffered pre-em damage and was stagnant throughout winter, considered fallowing paddock 8th August (photo). With sub-soil moisture and good nutrition we let it go, has made a tremendous recovery since then.

@BDidya @fesshole I had my first child at 33 and second at 35. There is still time for them to change their mind, or not 🤷‍♂️

@fesshole I recently retired. Both of our kids, in their 30s and happy with partners, don't want kids. So no grandchildren to spend retirement days with. Can't 'regret' it as it's their choice. But I was looking forward to having the time with grandkids that work denied me with ours...

I'm due to retire shortly but overheard my daughters discussing how great it will be when I'm free to look after my grandchildren much more. So just spoke to my boss and agreed to stay on, if I have to work in my old age I'm going to bloody well get paid for it.

@ProfBrianCox I had a boss called Marcellos. My computer always tried autocorrect it to Merciless. Seemed apt 😜😂

I just tried to type ‘yes indeed’ as a reply to someone and my phone autocorrect changed it to ‘Ye sundews’. What does that even mean?

I’m a hobby farmer, and my hobbies include doing dumb things. 😂 I really wanted to see what can happen when a canola plant has room to really express itself without competition. Target plant population 11/m2 @PrecisionPlant vSet work amazingly 😍@PSS_David

Don't think I've been quite so excited for a textbook to arrive before. Vavilov contributed a huge amount to plant genetics and crop mimicry, some interesting reading/history ahead

Recognition of Palmer amaranth in some Texan cotton across eight different growth stages with the YOLOv5 architecture. Data collected for training on a FLIR camera, but run on video a phone. Always amazing to see how it turns out. @AustAmFulbright @SiaSydney

First time taking the ginger site-specific weed control system out to the field! No testing here, just mounting/wheel track/alignment. @AgriFuturesAU

Young people are being blamed for spreading the virus because they’re not taking it seriously enough, despite those aged 20-29 making up almost a quarter of Victoria’s COVID cases. Do you have a story? | @theage #QandA bit.ly/3hfGDzm

I feel so judged by roadside rumble strips. I’m really not that bad of a driver, I just enjoy looking at crops, cows, and farms along the way more than I enjoy looking at the road.
