Getting Lebanon included in the Vance peace deal was an Iranian objective, not the U.S. - and one the U.S. initially resisted when the ceasefire was announced. To spin this as an American achievement is Orwellian.

I’m assuming that Sorsby didn’t forget to report his gambling income to the IRS. Under federal law, all gambling winnings—regardless of the amount or whether you receive a tax form—are considered fully taxable income and must be reported on your tax return. Intentionally failing to do is a federal crime.

I think there is a non zero chance that Brendan Sorsby ends up in handcuffs before he ends up on the football field for Texas Tech. Some of his activities are absolutely illegal and if reports are accurate, some of them are federal.

Congress has no power to stop college athletes from suing in state court for breach of contract. The only meaningful remedy to stop schools from supporting decisions like the one handed down in Sorsby v. NCAA is to eject schools from their Conference.

The Judge set a pretty interesting precedent in the Sorsby case. Part of Sorsby's argument was that the NCAA's hard and fast no-gambling rules are BS because of the close ties between college sports and Gambling companies.
The judge bought that, at least in part. That softens the argument for strict penalties for gambling on games, even games your team is playing in, as long as the NCAA maintains any type of relationship, even through broadcast partners, with gambling.
Essentially, this judge has said the NCAA can't really tell you not to gamble anymore, because they are making too much money off of it.
Now, that's not the entirety of the judge's reasoning, and this is just an injunction, but that certainly is an interesting development.
